Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish • 2 Message from our Pastor Today is the Feast of His MERCY Today, the second Sunday of Easter and the last day of the Easter Octave (8 days), we celebrate the feast of Divine Mercy. On August 3, 2002, the Apostolic Penitentiary (office of Vatican charged with the celebration of the sacrament of penance and the granting of indulgences) announced that in order “to ensure that the faithful would observe this day (Divine Mercy Sunday) with intense devotion, the Supreme Pontiff established that this Sunday be enriched by a plenary indulgence… so that the faithful might receive in abundance the gift of the consolation of the Holy Spirit…” Pope John Paul II established: “A plenary indulgence, granted under the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intentions of Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on the Second Sunday of Easter or Divine Mercy Sunday, in any church or chapel, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, take part in the prayers and devotions held in honor of Divine Mercy, or who, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed or reserved in the tabernacle, recite the Our Father and the Creed, adding a devout prayer to the merciful Lord Jesus (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!"); A partial indulgence, granted to the faithful who, at least with a contrite heart, pray to the merciful Lord Jesus a legitimately approved invocation.” Join us this Sunday at 2:15 pm for exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with prayer of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 pm, followed by Eucharistic Benediction. Mensaje de nuestro pastor Hoy es la fiesta de su MISERICORDIA Hoy, segundo domingo de Pascua y el último día de la octava (8 días) de Pascua, celebramos la fiesta de la Divina Misericordia. Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel 109 th Anniversary Wednesday, April 26th, 2018 Mass at 5:30 p.m. Potluck to follow in the School Gym We ask you to bring your dish to the gym before the Mass. We will have people there from about 4 PM. Please, label your dish so it can be returned after the meal. Please, pick up any left-overs after the dinner. We have many favorite recipes. But, in order to organize this, we ask each family to bring a dish (feed 68 people) from these categories, based on the family’s last name: A-F: Salad G-M: Potato/ Pasta/ Rice Dish / Casserole

Sacrament of Baptism –Baptisms are held each Sunday. English on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month after the 10 a.m. Mass. Baptisms are held in Spanish on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month after the 1 p.m. mass. For further information call the parish office at 630-8511100. Celebración de Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo 109º Aniversario Miércoles 26 de abril, 2017 Misa a las 5:30 p.m. Seguida por una cena en el gimnasio de la escuela Les pedimos que traigan un platillo para compartir al gimnasio de la escuela antes de que empiece la misa, varias personas estarán recibiéndolos. Por favor de poner su nombre en su vasija que vaya a traer, para que pueda ser devuelta después de la comida. Si después de la comida hay algún sobrante favor de recogerlo. Para organizar esto, les pedimos que cada familia traigan un platillo (que pueda servir de 6-8 personas).
