The purpose of the Finance Council is to help the pastor with the financial administration of the parish. The members are chosen by the pastor for their financial skills. It is a three year assignment.

The PARISH council is chosen by a vote of the Church community. The parish council is a consultative body to help the pastor in the running of the parish. It is not a legislative council.

There is no set amount of members designated for a parish council, but I would suggest seven to nine as a good starting number. If the pastor feels that the parish council is lacking in representation for any group of people in the parish, he is entitled to add members to the council to achieve proportional representation.
