Holy Spirit Catholic Church Parish Mission Statement

January 12, 2006

We, the Parish Community of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, are a family of many cultural back-

grounds. Our mission is to enrich the spiritual life of all parishioners, through the active participation in prayer and the sacraments, promoting opportunities to grow in faith and hope, and providing a place to come together in the love of God and neighbor. We are committed to the needs of our parishioners and to reach beyond to serve the needs of others. We are called by the Spirit to witness the forgiving, healing and saving presence of Jesus as one Church and one people. Men's Bible Study

Did you know that we cover the entire Bible, especially all of the New Testament, every three years through the Sunday readings? On the feast of "Christ the King" we finished the liturgical year. We read Cycle A which features 32 weeks of Matthew's Gospel. It has been a grand road studying Matthew. We started the new liturgical year, Cycle B, with the first Sunday of Advent. Gospel readings will come from the Gospel of Luke and John during Cycle B. Our Sunday readings are much more meaningful for those of us who have read and studied the readings ahead of time . The Vatican has declared this year to be the year of St. Paul. What better way is there to know and study your faith than to join a small group Bible Study! Come join us; we have plenty of room in our small group Men's Bible study. We can promise you that the Scripture will come alive for you as it has for us. We can also promise you will learn what we believe as Catholics. We meet in the hall at 7:00 a.m. after the 6:30 a.m. morning Mass on Monday. For more information, please call Bob Novielli, 714-556-8658.
