Festive events and activities The Sydney Christmas Walk Take the family on a special journey through the city and explore a thousand sparkling lights and projections on iconic buildings from Pitt Street Mall to Sydney Town Hall. Start at the Market Street entrance to Pitt Street Mall, where you will be greeted by the ever-changing colours of the Christmas Light Forest installation suspended overhead. Walk under the mesmerising canopy of lights to King Street where magical projections will light up the façade of buildings at this lively intersection. Continue the walk down to Martin Place to the interactive Christmas tree where you are invited to share the spirit of Christmas by sending a personal message to light up its branches. Complete the walk under the stunning arches of the Queen Victoria Building and marvel at its incredible indoor Christmas tree spanning three floors. Queen Victoria Building Swarovski Christmas Tree Thursday 27 October 2016 to Sunday 8 January 2017 Monday-Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 6pm | Thursday, 9am to 9pm | Saturday, 10am to 4pm | Sunday, 11am to 4pm Celebrate the joy of Christmas under Queen Victoria Building’s grand dome. The iconic QVB Swarovski Christmas Tree stands at an impressive 24 metres high and is adorned in sparkling Swarovski Crystals and topped with a mesmerising 2-metre crystal studded star for all to wish upon. Martin Place Christmas Concert Saturday 26 November 2016, 6.30pm to 8.30pm Immerse yourself in to the spirit of Christmas as Sydney’s largest Christmas tree is lit for the first time by Santa and the city’s Lord Mayor. Enjoy the free children’s concert, packed with entertainment the whole family will love. Finish the night with a spectacular fireworks display to mark the start of the festive season. Christmas on the Green Saturday 26 November 2016, 6.30pm to 8.30pm Perfect for families, Sydney’s free Christmas concert in iconic Hyde Park offers a lively and festive night with great entertainment for young ones and adults. Enjoy craft activities, a sausage sizzle, gelato and a fun Santa stocking filled with goodies for a gold coin donation. All proceeds will go towards Guide Dogs NSW/ACT. Once the sun sets, the night sky is illuminated with a stunning fireworks display. Christmas Carols in The Domain Sunday 18 December 2016, 8:30pm to 11:00pm Join Australia’s largest free outdoor concert at the annual Woolworths Carols in the Domain. Now in its 34th year, this iconic Christmas celebration brings together some of Australia’s most talented singers to fill the air with traditional Christmas favourites including Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer and Away in a Manger.
