Summer Camp Program Descriptions for Ages 6-12 Alien Invaders: Campers will be space travelers as they journey to planet Earth in a space ship they design and build. Their mission: to identify invasive animal and plant species. Standby for takeoff and welcome to planet Earth! (Ages 6-8) Animal Detectives: There’s a mystery at the Zoo and we need YOU! The animals are in an uproar and we need your help to follow the clues. Join our team of animal detectives to uncover the secret of…the missing mammal. (Ages 6-8)

Build a Zoo Workshop: How do Zoo Keepers create natural habitats in zoos? Observe firsthand what it takes to design a zoo and participate in creating your very own. Learn why zoos play such an important role in saving animals around the world. (Ages 6-12)

Animal Quest: Campers will explore animal myths and legends as they work to unlock possible answers about strange and unusual animal sightings. Dragons, unicorns, bigfoot…are they real? (Ages 6-12) Hollywood Zoo: Lights, camera, action! Campers will learn how Hollywood captures animals on film as they work together to create their very own movie! (Ages 9-12)

Animal Warriors: It’s a battle of champions as animal warriors compete. From predators, to prehistoric, which mighty or unlikely hero will be the leader in this competition of muscle and wits? (Ages 6-12)

Ickyology: Enjoy the “yuk!” side of animal science from dissecting owl pellets to examining tiny creatures under the microscope to making yummy carnivorous treats for the cats. This is the gross-out class of all time! (Ages 9-12)

Jr. Ickyology: It’s time to get the inside scoop on grossout facts about animals! From ooey to gooey, and sticky to stinky, this is a fun and “yuk!” filled camp for kids! (Ages 6-8) Art Safari: Creative ideas will come to life as campers journey around the world on an imaginative art safari. Touch the fur of a mammal, feel the rasp of a reptile’s scales, observe the beauty of bird feathers, and become an animal artist. (Ages 6-8)

Jr. Zoo Keeper: Experience what it’s like to be a Zoo Keeper going behind-the-scenes to work with the animals! Participants will conduct real animal behavior studies, work directly with Zoo Keepers, and create enrichments for the animals. (Ages 9-12)

Maps will be drawn, animals will be found, look sharp mates for who knows what treasures yet abound? (Ages 6-8)

Wild Artists: Go wild at the Zoo creating all kinds of animal artistry! Capture amazing wildlife through photography, painting, drawing, sculpting, and multi media. (Ages 9-12) X-treme Survival: Embark on this exciting mission to

discover how fire, wind and water shape the earth. Explore how animals adapt and survive the elements in this extreme survival camp! (Ages 6-12) ZOOlympics: Reaching new heights, the fastest speeds, the greatest strength, which animals will take home the gold? It’s a race to the finish in this x-treme ZOOlympic event! (Ages 6-12) Radical Reptiles: They slither and slide, they dig and they climb. Venture into the radical realm of reptiles to learn how cool these cold blooded creatures really are! (Ages 6-12)

Safari Express: Get ready for an exciting journey into the heart of new and old world continents. Explore the lands, cultures and animals with tours, activities and close-up encounters. (Ages 9-12)

ZOOper Heroes!: Spiderman, Batman and Squirrel Girl? From fact to fiction campers will investigate the world of super heroes that have special animal abilities. Campers will choose their own animal super power as they explore the animals that have inspired famous super heroes. (Ages 6-8)

Swamp Stompin’ Gone Wild: Discover where alligators live, prehistoric animals roamed, and where Native Americans walked. Experience the thrill of exploring the wet and wild side of Florida’s wetlands. (Ages 6-12) Ultimate Sky Hunters: Raptors rule the sky looking for prey day and night. Powerful hunters and expert flyers, campers will meet these formidable predators up close. Then travel back in time to discover the dinosaur connection and explore the world of ancient raptors. (Ages 9-12)

Zoo Science Investigators: There’s something strange going on at the Zoo and our Zoo Science Investigators will be called on to solve the mystery! Z.S.I.s will go behind the scenes to learn scientific procedures using microscopes, field kits and other forensic methods as they race the clock to save the animals in the Zoo. (Ages 9-12)
