PURPOSE OF POSITION
As our Team Leader of Lifeguards you work to ensure that the lifeguard team meets the customer’s needs in terms of information, services, access and support, promptly and courteously, thus maximising customer enjoyment, safety and encourage ongoing facility use.

Swimming pool presentation is monitored daily.
No complaints regarding daily presentation of pools and changing rooms, temperature or debris within the pool.
Ensure BBQ’s and BBQ tables are clean and ready for daily use.
Spot checks indicate that this is achieved and no complaints from customers
Carry out Plant checks in accordance with the Facility Plant Check Procedures
Spot checks show that plant checks have been performed with accuracy
Carry out Pool Water tests to comply with NZS, 5826:2000
Accurate record keeping of water tests
Maintain Pool Water quality in accordance with NZS, 5826;2000
Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures are adhered to enabling a safe and hazard free work environment for all staff, contractors and members of the public Pool Water quality is maintained to NZS 5826:2010 Standards and ensuring all tests are recorded accurately
Ability to identify facility and plant faults and report to Facility Team Leader
All faults reported to Facility Team Leader within 1 hour of recognition.

Personal responsibility for safety is demonstrated and policy and procedure is correctly followed. Effort is made to strive for best practice in Health and Safety.
Participate as a member of the TAEC team, making Members of the WCFT support each other and a full contribution to promote corporate values work as a positive team. and vision at all times.

Team Talks are conducted weekly and staff are well informed of organisational issues.
Ensure a complete and comprehensive induction takes place.
Staff turnover is below the organisation’s target. Staff selected are comprehensively inducted so that they are productive and comfortable in their role within 3 months.
Motivate staff to provide the highest level of service and work in a team environment.
Staff are at least 80% positive about job satisfaction in the WCFT climate survey
Unit plan is used to guide staff performance and direction in working towards a common goal.
Unit plan objectives are met within the facility.
Regular coaching of staff performance – providing feedback on performance standards, setting goals and action plan, and review achievements
Staff receive regular feedback and assistance in their roles to perform at a higher level.
Health and Safety Key Tasks

Responsible for keeping self and others safe in the workplace, complying with WCFT Health and Safety policies and procedures and using appropriate equipment provided when applicable.
Work site reviews are completed regularly. Accidents are investigated promptly and causing Hazard is identified. No incidents, accidents due to safety equipment not being utilised. Policies and procedures are complied with.

Qualification
Essential Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC) Workplace First Aid U/S 6400,6401,6402 or U/S 26551 & 26552 In-‐depth Knowledge of NZS, 5826:2010 – Pool Water Quality
Desirable Qualification in the treatment of Pool Water treatment and operators course U/S 25982, 25981, 25980 . National Certificate in Aquatics Level 4. Trained Skills Active assessor
National Customer Service Award Experience
Previous experience leading a team Aquatic Plant Operations and maintenance Experience applying Health and Safety in a work environment
2yr Team Leader experience

Skills
