Downtown Hamilton welcomes its favorite winter festival, IceFest 2015, on January 16 and 17. Thousands of visitors will enjoy the Technicolor Ice Walk on Friday, the competition carving on Saturday, and even human dog sled races on Courthouse Square. This year’s theme is “Hamilton Goes Hollywood” and the Lane Libraries welcome you to enjoy a host of fun activities on Saturday at the children’s area in

Holiday Closings 2015 Tax Help for Seniors During tax season, volunteers from AARP offer free income tax preparation assistance for area senior citizens and residents designated as disabled or lowincome. All 2015 tax appointments will take place at the Fairfield Lane Library. Appointments will be held on Mondays, February 9, 23, March 9, 23 and April 6, 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Appointments are required. Please call 858-3238, ext. 358 beginning Friday, January 2.

Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson David, a teen whose father was killed in front of him by an Epic (a human corrupted by superhero-like powers), is on a quest to avenge his father’s death. Along the way he meets the elusive Reckoners and uses his hard-won knowledge of Epic weaknesses to attempt the impossible. Book 2, Firefight, releases in January.
