The event will take place at ‘The Green’ where there will be a spitfire flypast, birds of prey flying display, a court jester and various stalls and refreshments. The event runs from 12 noon until 4pm and our steel pan band will be performing at 1pm. Please do come down and support us if you are able to!!

Wind Band perform at ‘Spring Soiree’ This Tuesday evening we are performing at ‘Spring Soiree’ which is a concert to be held at New Swannington Primary school. As part of the rehearsal process Miss Govier has worked with New Swannington’s choir to prepare a cover of ‘I’m Yours’ by Jason Mraz, which will even be accompanied by Ukulele! In addition to this, our extremely talented Wind Band will be performing a selection of pieces including ‘Uptown Funk’ and ‘All of me.’ This has been a great project to work on and we really look forward to their performance!

The Beatles Museum This Friday our GCSE Music groups are visiting ‘The Beatles Story’ in Liverpool as part of the GCSE music course focuses on learning about ‘Music of the 1960’s.’ Whilst there students will experience the Beatles Story through a series of attractions. They will learn about the Beatles’ lives, times, music and influential legacy using interactive screens, a giant piano and pieces of music history that has never before been seen outside of the USA. There are large collections of memorabilia and photographs of The Beatles as well as other iconic bands of the 1960’s, such as The Rolling Stones, that have never been seen before worldwide.
