It is my pleasure to present to you the Southern Tigers Basketball Association (STBA) Sponsorship Prospectus. The STBA is a member club of Basketball SA and has a rich heritage of success. We were born out of the 2003 merger of Noarlunga City Tigers and the Adelaide Southern Suns. Both clubs originated from founding Clubs, The Adelaide Giants and Glenelg Tigers back in the early 1960s. Basketball Clubs and the administrators within them, who are mainly volunteers, are the life force of Australian Basketball. The quality of the environment within which the game is conducted is vital in ensuring the ongoing growth and health of the game. The best basketball clubs are great places for people to be around and involved in. Clubs provide a place for people to belong and offer the necessary support for on and off field participants to enjoy the varied roles they play in the game and its associated community activities. Today we are a modern Basketball Association with over 55 teams representing nearly 600 families that live predominately in the Southern and Fleurieu Peninsula within the City of Onkaparinga. The City of Onkaparinga is the largest local government area in South Australia where 165,000 residents live. We operate in various venues but ‘home base’ is the Morphett Vale Stadium, Winifred Taylor Reserve, States Road, Morphett Vale SA. It is the only four basketball court stadium in the Adelaide metropolitan area. As an Association we believe in investing in our local community and that includes seeking sponsorship from businesses that we actively engage and promote with our large membership and community base. Our modern website that can be found www.southerntigers.com.au annually has over 90,000 visitors with 720,000 web pages viewed. Our Facebook and Twitter engagement is also the envy of other sporting associations.
