allows us to raise funds for our programs and services. The event also is an opportunity for our Board of Directors to recognize our partners who, through their ongoing support, allow ProgressiveTransition(s) to make a difference in the community. Our honorees represent business leaders, elected officials and public servants who throughout their careers have dedicated themselves to making a difference and who have a strong commitment to the mission and goals of Progressive Transition(s). Behind the Masque is also an opportunity to showcase the work Progressive Transition(s) does in the community to end all forms of violence against women. Progressive Transition(s)’ focus has been to assist victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual exploitation and human trafficking transform their lives. In collaboration with our experienced staff, clients identify the trauma associated with their exposure to violence; acquire the skills they need to overcome their current situation and implement practical changes to their lives in order to live free from the threat of violence. This year’s event will be held in November and will draw over 200 people from the community including business leaders, elected officials, other philanthropists and friends of Progressive Transition(s). It will include a VIP cocktail reception, silent auction, an exquisite dining experience, awards presentation and live entertainment that won’t soon be forgotten. About Progressive Tansition(s) Inc. Mission Statement The mission of Progressive Transition(s), Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and its subsidiary, The Healing Root, is to improve the lives of victims and survivors of Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking.

Our Goals • To provide victims and survivors of Domestic Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault and Trauma with the tools they need to transcend their experiences and navigate a path to recovery and healing. •

To reduce the impact and/or residual effects of Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Assault and Trauma by addressing identified gaps in services and interventions that perpetuate unresolved issues.

To work toward ending all forms of violence in the collective community.

Programs & Services of Progressive Transition(s) The Healing Root The Healing Root is a program of Progressive Transition(s) that focuses on women who are victims and survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and who are also involved in street prostitution. Services Offered This is a six-month program whose services included but are not limited to: •

Intensive case management

•

Individual and group counseling

•

Life skills and self-sufficiency planning

•

Family counseling, where appropriate

•

Substance abuse intervention

The Healing Root Diversion Program The Healing Root Diversion Program was created out of the need to provide services to young women (age 18 and over) who have been charged with prostitution and/or loitering. The goal of this program is to assist clients in getting their convictions overturned and avoiding incarceration or being placed on probation. As part of their participation, we assist clients in identifying the trauma associated with their victimization, provide mental health support, crisis intervention and life skills enhancement. Progressive Transition(s) Counseling Services Counseling services are provided to women and men (18 years of age and older) who are victims/survivors of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, PTSD and trauma. Over half of these victims (52%) were abused physically and/or sexually in childhood and 78% will find themselves in abusive relationships as adults. This year, Progressive Transition(s) celebrates our eighth year in the community providing services such as: • Educational workshops designed to assist our clients in identifying potential offenders; • Programs designed to give clients life skills and education to improve their lives; • Tools and resources needed to make changes in their lives to break the cycle of violence; and • Supportive therapeutic services.
