Nikos Karacapilidis holds a professor position at the University of Patras in the field of management information systems. His research interests lie in the areas of intelligent Web-based information systems, technology-enhanced learning, e-collaboration, knowledge management systems, group decision support systems, computer-supported argumentation, enterprise information systems and Semantic Web. He has been recently appointed as Editor-in-Chief of the Advances in Web-based Learning (AWBL) Book Series, published by IGI Global. Raisinghani is an associate professor in the Executive MBA program at the TWU School of Management. He is a Certified E-Commerce Consultant (CEC), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Raisinghani was awarded the 2008 Excellence in Research & Scholarship award and the 2007 G. Ann Uhlir Endowed Fellowship in Higher Education Administration. He was also the recipient of TWU School of Management’s 2005 Best Professor Award for the Most Innovative Teaching Methods; 2002 research award; 2001 King/Haggar Award for excellence in teaching, research and service; and a 1999 UD-GSM Presidential Award. His research has been published in several academic journals such as IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information & Management, Information Resources Management Journal, Journal of E-396 Commerce Research, International Journal of Distance Education Technologies, International Journal of Innovation and Learning, Journal of IT Review, Journal of Global IT Management and Journal of IT Cases and Applications Research among others and international/national conferences. Dr. Raisinghani is included in the millennium edition of Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who among Professionals, Who’s Who among America’s Teachers and Who’s Who in Information Technology. Eugenia M.W. Ng is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. She obtained her Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration from Concordia University (Canada), Diploma of Education from University of Surrey (UK) and PhD from University of Warwick (UK). Dr. Ng is responsible for teaching information technology modules, ranging from undergraduate to master’s level. She is interested in various research areas and her recent areas are e-learning, blended learning and learning communities. She has published over seventy articles in conference proceedings, journals and book chapters, apart from being a research investigator of many internal and external funded projects. She is a co-editor-in-chief of International Journal of Web-based Learning and Teaching Technologies and an associate editor for the Advances in Web-based Learning (AWBL) Book Series and the International Journal of Digital Literacy and

Recently, she has been editing a book entitled Comparative Blended Learning Practices and Environments, which will be published by IGI Global’s Information Science Reference (USA) in October 2009. The edited book is contributed by thirty-five authors and co-authors from nineteen countries. Dr. Ng has been appointed as the subject specialist by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications since 2002. *** Anshu Saxena Arora, Ph.D., PMP is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business Administration, Savannah State University, Savannah, Georgia. She is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute (PMI), USA and holds a Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB), UK. Dr. Arora has been a Visiting Professor at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona. She was awarded Ph.D. in the area of Hypermedia CMEs from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. Dr. Arora is the winner of Advertising Educational Foundation (AEF) faculty internship - Visiting Professor Program (VPP) during the year 2010 in New York City. She has more than a decade of industrial and academic experience and has been actively involved in major international projects with Lufthansa German Airlines, Hyundai Motor India Limited, and Siemens India. She has published 22 research articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals and presented 27 papers in academic conferences, including Academy of Marketing Science, Decision Sciences, etc.. She has authored a book titled “Hypermedia – From Multimedia to Virtual Reality”, published by Prentice Hall of India in 2004, and she has contributed a book chapter titled “Creativity and Innovations in Organizations” in the book: “International Encyclopedia of Organizational Behavior” by Pentagon Press, UK in 2007. Carlos Felipe Cavalcante de Almeida is a master’s degree candidate at the Graduate program in business administration (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração de Empresas – PPGA) at the University of Fortaleza. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Federal University of Ceara (Universidade Federal do Ceará), Brazil. He has experience in business administration, specifically in marketing, and has already worked for both national and international companies. His main research interests are the following: neuromarketing, experiential marketing, and consumer behavior. Recently he has participated as a visiting student in a neuromarketing research program at HEC Montréal, Canada. Yi-Fen Chen is currently an associate professor in the department of International Business at the Chung Yuan Christian University, Chung Li, Taiwan. Her research interests include Internet marketing, consumer behavior, electronic commerce, and information management. Stelios Daskalakis holds a PhD in Health Informatics from the faculty of Nursing, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. His research interests focus on the evaluation of human/ behavioral and social aspects of technology and information systems across a wide range of domains including enterprise interoperability and service-oriented architectures (SOA), healthcare and electronic

health record (EHR), information and computer security and e-Learning. The area of his research emphasizes on quantitative methods, with focus on partial least squares path modeling. He has participated both as a presenter and reviewer in international conferences and has authored a series of scientific papers appearing in international conferences and journals. Lia DiBello has been active in work place research for over 18 years as a research associate at IBM Cognitive Science Labs, a Senior Research Associate at Laboratory for Cognitive Studies of Work and as Principal Investigator for The Workplace Technology Research Group, located in the Center for Advanced Research in Education at the graduate school of the City University of New York. Since 1987, Dr. DiBello’s work has focused on workplace cognition and learning in high tech environments; she has been working directly with various industries on large-scale technology implementations. Currently, she is the President and Research Director for WTRI. She has been awarded 11 research grants since coming to WTRI. Joana Ancila Pessoa Forte has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Fortaleza (Universidade de Fortaleza – UNIFOR), Brazil. She also has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Ceara’s Higher Education Institute (Instituto de Ensino Superior do Ceará). She has experience in the following fields: research methodology, advanced quantitative methods, and longdistance learning technologies, which are also her main research areas. Currently, she is a professor at the Evolution School of Technology (Faculdade de Tecnologia Evolução) and at the Integrated Colleges of Ceara (Faculdades Integradas do Ceará – FIC) in Ceara, Brazil. Pankaj Kamthan has been teaching in academia and industry for several years. He has also been a technical editor, participated in standards development, served on program committees of international conferences, and is on the editorial board of a number of journals including the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning and the International Journal of Teaching and Case Studies. His research interests include Conceptual Modeling, Software Quality, and Web Engineering. Nikos Karousos holds a Diploma (1998), a MSc (2000) and a PhD (2010) from the Dept. of Computer Engineering and Informatics University of Patras, Greece. He is a post-doctorate researcher at the Hellenic Open University, with more than 16 years of software design and development experience. For 5 years he was running his own software development company. Currently he works in the Internal Assessment and Education Unit of Hellenic Open University and his research is focused on the areas of hypertext/hypermedia, web services, software evaluation and argumentation & collaboration support systems. He has a great experience in design and development of software applications and he has participated in several research projects as senior engineer (the most recent ones were the EU Projects Palette and ReMath). He also teaches (last six years) “programming languages” and “database management systems” in the Technological Education Institute of Messolonghi. He has co-authored several articles in the proceedings of international conferences, journals and books related to his scientific interests. Nektarios Kostaras received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the M.Sc. degree in Advanced Control from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 1999 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in

Computer Science from the School of Sciences and Technology, Hellenic Open University, Patra, Greece, in 2010. He is a member of the Software Quality Research Group (http://quality.eap.gr) and administrator of the Software Quality Laboratory at HOU. His research interests are in the areas of Human – Computer Interaction, Software Quality Assessment, Augmented Reality UI, Usability Evaluation of Augmented Reality Systems, eLearning. Eleni Koulocheri holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Athens (2003) and an M.Sc. in the domain of Information Systems from the Hellenic Open University (2011). Her thesis included usability evaluation of e-learning environments with both heuristic and user’s eye tracking based methods. Since September 2011, she has been accepted by the School of Science and Technology of Hellenic Open University as a PhD student. Her interests include Usability Engineering, Educational Software Quality, Learning Analytics and pedagogy, Future E-learning Applications and Information Technology Project Management. She is associated with NCSR Demokritos since the end of 2004 where she has worked for over 15 european or national funded projects in the field of ICT, Transports, Security, Telecommunications, e-learning and Location-based Services in tasks such as proposal writing, participation and organization of evaluation testing, website development progress reporting, financial administration and technical support, web-design, dissemination activities coordination and participation. Tsang-Hsiung Lee has a PhD degree in the MIS area at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. His primary interest areas are management of information technology, organizational aspects of MIS, strategic use of information technology in small business, information systems development and implementation, and case study method. Reginald (Reggie) Leseane, Ed.D. is Associate Dean and Professor of CIS in the College of Business Administration at Savannah State University, Savannah, Georgia. He spent 20 years in the military (17 in the Air Force and 3 in the Marine Corps) where he specialized in electronic surveillance, radio communications, and aircraft weapons systems equipment. During this time he travelled throughout Europe including England, Spain, Germany, and Turkey. After earning a BBA with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems from Savannah State University he went on to attain an MBA and later a Doctorate in Education from Georgia Southern University specializing in math, science, and technology. Reginald is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Edimara Mezzomo Luciano is professor and associate dean of the School of Business, Accounting and Economics of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brazil. She got his PhD in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Her areas of interest include information security, IT management, and IT governance. Danielle Miranda de Oliveira Arruda Gomes has a Ph.D. in business administration (1992), and master’s degrees in marketing (1986) and business administration (1987) from the Institute of Business Administration (Institut D’administration D’entreprises - IAE) of the University of Nice, France. She has experience in the following fields: marketing, tourism planning and management, and sustainable growth and development. Currently, she is a professor at the Graduate Program in Business Administration at the University of Fortaleza (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração de Empresas

Her main research interests are in the distribution of touristic products in environmental protection areas, contemporary Marketing theory, and long-distance learning technologies. Whit Missildine received his PhD in social-personality psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of the New York. During his three years working in HIV research, Dr. Missildine published several papers examining the cultural and behavioral underpinnings of unsafe sex practices among HIV positive men in New York City. After his work in HIV research, Dr. Missildine’s work focused on labor and power in large organizations. Currently, as a senior research associate for Workplace Technologies Research, Inc., Dr. Missildine’s work now focuses on workplace cognition, organizational learning, and simulation-based training, where he has published several papers in activity theory and organization science. Cláudio André Gondim Nogueira has a master’s degree in economics from the Pennsylvania State University, USA. He also has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in economics from the Federal University of Ceara (Universidade Federal do Ceará), Brazil. He has experience mainly in applied Economics and quantitative methods as well as in public administration and economic development. Currently he is a professor and a doctorate candidate in business administration at the University of Fortaleza, Brazil. His main research and teaching interests are: applied quantitative methods in business and economics, applied and theoretical microeconomics, industrial organization and strategy, and consumer behavior. Krassie Petrova is a Senior Research Lecturer in Information Systems and Technology at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. She received her M.S in Computer Science from the University of Sofia and is a PhD candidate at the Auckland University of Technology. She teaches postgraduate courses in information security and contemporary networking technologies, and undergraduate courses in eCommerce and electronic transactions. Krassie has over 80 peer reviewed publications including articles in Electronic Commerce Research, International Journal of Mobile Learning and Organization, International Journal of Innovation and Learning, International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies Education, International Journal of e-Services and Mobile Applications, International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology, and Journal of Information Systems Education. Her research areas include mobile business, eLearning, and IS/IT curriculum development and student skills and capabilities building. Ms Petrova’s current research is focused on developing models for mobile service adoption and approaches towards mobile artefact evaluation, and investigating the role of mobile service enablers such mobile payment, location-based services, and the mobile Internet. She contributes to the international research and academic community as a journal editor (Journal of Information Technology Education, The International HETL Review, Journal of Applied Computing and Information Technologies), international journal and conference reviewer, and editorial board and programme committee member. Nurul I. Sarkar is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at AUT University, New Zealand. He is regularly invited to give keynote talks on his field of specialization at

various national and international forums. He has more than 16 years of teaching experience in universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has taught a range of subjects, including computer networking, data communications, wireless networking, computer hardware, and eCommerce. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Field of study: Wireless networks) from University of Auckland. His first edited book entitled Tools for Teaching Computer Networking and Hardware Concepts has been published by IGI Global Publishing in 2006, which has received a lot of commendation worldwide. Nurul has published more than 85 research papers in international refereed journals, conferences, and book chapters, including the IEEE Transactions on Education, International Journal of Business Data Communications and Networking, Journal of Selected Areas in Telecommunications, International Journal of Wireless Networks and Broadband Technologies, and Measurement Science & Technology. Nurul is a member of various professional organisations and societies, including IEEE Communications Society, Information Resources Management Association, Australasian Association for Engineering Education, and ACM New Zealand Bulletin. He is an elected chairman of the IEEE New Zealand communications society chapter, and senior member of IEEE. Nurul is a guest editor for AP Journal of Networks, an associate editor for International Journal of Wireless Networks and Broadband Technologies, and member of various international journal editorial review board. Nurul served as TPC co-chair for mobile and wireless networking track (IEEE ATNAC 2010) and wireless and communication track (IEEE TENCON’10). He was a local organising committee member for hosting Asia Pacific Computer Communications (APCC) Conference 2010 in Auckland. He served as TPC member for various leading networking conferences (e.g., IEEE GLOBECOM, ICC, WCNC, UbiCoNet, ISCC, ICACT, ISCI, and ACM SIGCSE) as well as track and session chairs for several national and international forums. Pei-Di Shen now works as director of the Teacher Education Center and professor of Graduate School of Education, Ming Chuan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Professor Shen is one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Online Pedagogy and Course Design. Her primary interest areas are E-learning, knowledge management, virtual community, and management information systems. Her research focus is the distance education in higher education. Alexandros Soumplis graduated in 2003 from the “Engineering in Informational and Communication Systems” of the Aegean University. Since 2009 holds a Masters degree “MSc in Network & Data Communication” from Kingston University in England and in 2010 was accepted by the School of Science and Technology of the Hellenic Open University as a PhD student. His research interests in cooperation with the Software Quality Research Group include the production of learning and knowledge using non-standard methods by encouraging the production of learning content from the learners. He also works as a systems engineer with major computer and telecommunications companies in Greece and since 2007 collaborates with the National Documentation Centre as a member of the “Information Systems and Networks Department”. Maurício Gregianin Testa is professor at the School of Business, Accounting and Economics of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Brazil. He is also dean of the Center for Continuing Education at the same university. He received his PhD in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. His areas of interest include web-based distance education, social and cultural IT impacts, and IT management.

Chia-Wen Tsai is an assistant professor in the department of information management, Ming Chuan University. Dr. Tsai is one of the Editors-in-Chief of International Journal of Online Pedagogy and Course Design, and International Journal of Technology and Human Interaction. He is also the associate editor of Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking, and International Journal of Information Communication Technologies and Human Development. He is interested in online teaching methods and knowledge management. Nikolaos Tselios is a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Sciences and Early Childhood Education at the University of Patras and a Consulting Professor at the Hellenic Open University. He holds a PhD (2002) in Usability Engineering and a Diploma (1997) from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 1997. His main research interests are human computer interaction, design and evaluation of educational software, usability evaluation methodologies, distance learning, user/student modelling and intelligent user interfaces. He has over 65 publications in international and national journals and conferences with at least 300 citations and 2 patents. Michalis N. Xenos, B.Eng., M.Sc., PhD, is Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department of the School of Sciences and Technology of the Hellenic Open University. Michalis Xenos he has been holding teaching assistance, teaching and research positions at the Departments of Computer Engineering & Informatics and Mathematics of the University of Patras, and the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute, Patras, Greece since 1991. Currently he is the Director of the Internal Assessment and Education Unit and Director of the Software Quality Research Group and the Software Quality Laboratory. He has participated in over 30 research and development projects in the area of software engineering and educational technologies. His current research interests include, inter alia, Software Quality and Educational Technologies. He has authored or co-authored 8 books and over 100 papers in international journals and conferences and serves as a reviewer for numerous journals and conferences.
