Louisquisset Golf Club Handbook The Purpose of this handbook is to give both current and prospective members an understanding of member responsibilities and the rules & regulations which govern the golf club.

Golf Committee Make Up & Responsibilities The golf committee will consist of six resident golfing members, two non-resident golfing members and one executive board member. The six resident and two non-resident golfing members of the committee will be elected to 2 year terms. Three positions and two positions will be elected in alternating years to fill open or vacated positions. Two non-resident positions will be 2 year terms elected by the non-resident members. The purpose of the golf committee will be to enhance the golf experience of the golf club, recruit new members and make recommendations to the executive board based on the best interest of the golf club. The Committee will review all club rules and policy violations. Serious or repetitive violations of club rules may result in suspension or termination of all membership rights and privileges including tournaments and leagues.

Membership Restrictions Family Memberships: Will typically consist of husbands and wives. Social Memberships: May play 5 times per month and are not eligible to play in tournaments or leagues. Limited Play Memberships: Members may not tee off before 9:00 a.m. and must be off the golf course by 4:30 p.m. and are not eligible for tournaments or league play. Leave of Absence: Written requests must be submitted to the Golf Committed for approval. An approved leave of absence is only valid for the period of one (1) year.

Member Financial Responsibilities As a member of the golf club, you are obliged to have half of your membership dues paid by March 1 of the current year. The balance of membership dues must be paid in full by March 31. There will be a $100 late fee if half the dues are not paid by March 31st. All monthly charges are to be paid and received by the 15th of the month following the billing date or be assessed a late fee per month. The golfing member understands that golf privileges will be suspended until their account is current and a valid credit card is presented to the office for future delinquent account occurrences, which will incur a 2.5% administrative fee.

Special Assessments As a golfing member, you are agreeing to pay any special assessments the golf committee and executive board deem appropriate to meet all budgetary and financial obligations. This could include weather shortfalls, catastrophic equipment failure, irrigation system problems, etc.

Golf Course Concerns & Conditions All members are reminded to replaces divots and repair ball marks on greens. All issues related to the conditions of the golf course will be brought to the attention of the club pro or pro shop attendant, not the members of the grounds crew. All course concerns and complaints shall be put in writing and submitted to the Golf Committee and the Greens Committee for review.

Dress Code Golf Club & Restaurant

Proper attire is required at all times while using the golf club and restaurant facilities. Proper attire is as follows: Men - Long pants or knee length shorts, collared shirts, turtlenecks & mock turtlenecks and proper footwear. Women - Pants, skirts or knee length shorts, proper shirts and footwear. Cargo pants and shorts (baggy outside pockets), Denim or blue jean pants or shorts, athletic wear, tank tops, halter tops and bathing attire are prohibited from the golf course. All members are reminded you are responsible for your guests at all times. It is your responsibility to make sure your guests are properly attired at all times to use the golf club facilities.

Course Rules The golf season runs from March 15 to November 30, weather permitting. The golf course is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 10:00 a.m. on Mondays, Saturday, Sunday & Holidays operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Times will be adjusted in early spring and late fall for weather and daylight changes. All players must register in the golf shop prior to starting play. Members are responsible for any damages which they or their guest cause to golf club property or equipment. All play begins on the first tee. Approval from the golf staff is required for starting on any other tee. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON GOLF COURSE. Practicing is restricted to designated practice areas. NO ON COURSE PRACTICING. All players shall demonstrate proper golf etiquette at all times. Loud and profane language will not be tolerated. Everyone is expected to repair ball marks, replace divots and rake bunkers. Each player must have his or her own set of clubs. The use of cellular phones is limited to your automobile or clubhouse. Cellular phones are not permitted on the golf course or practice areas. No golfers may park their vehicles in the circle. All cars must be parked in the parking lot.

Guest Policy All members are reminded you are responsible for your guests at all times. It is your responsibility to make sure your guests are properly attired at all times to use the golf club facilities. NO EXCEPTIONS

Guests must play with a member, unless prior arrangements have been made with the golf professional. The member’s account will be billed for unaccompanied guest. Unaccompanied guests must ride at all times. No walking permitted. House guests may play more than once a week with prior permission from the golf professional. Members are responsible for their guests conduct and attire, as well as, any charges or damages incurred by their guests. All guests are required to use a golf cart until 4:00 p.m. Louiquisset Golf Course is a Soft Spike facility. Make sure your guests are aware of this prior to their arrival at the golf course. Soft Spikes are endorsed by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and Rhode Island.

Golf Carts The golf course superintendent and the golf professional may restrict the use of golf carts at any time they determine the weather or course conditions are not suitable or safe for cart usage. No person under the age of 16 or without valid drivers License may operate a golf cart at any time. Players are responsible for all damages that occur to golf carts while in their possession. Carts must not be driven out of bounds at any time and should be kept on paths at all times. Carts are prohibited in the clubhouse circle and the parking lot area. Carts must not be driven on the roads at Louisquisset. Anyone driving carts in a reckless manner on non-designated areas will be sent a written warning. Further violations will result in suspension of all golfing privileges to include participation in golf leagues. Golf carts must be kept a minimum of 30 yards away from all greens and kept in designated parking areas near tees. Carts must be returned to the golf shop by 7:30 Monday through Friday and by 7:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Walking Walking is permitted after the following times: Weekend and holidays: After 3:00 p.m. May through September (except Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after 4 p.m.) After 1:00 p.m. March, April, October and November Monday after 10 a.m. Tuesday 12:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday after 4 p.m.

Speed of Play Every effort should be made to expedite play. Golf etiquette requires slow players to allow faster players to pass. Larger groups, such as foursomes, should allow threesomes and twosomes to pass. Other than tournament play, everyone should play “ready” golf; minimize practice swings, position carts efficiently, be ready to putt, etc.

Tournaments Anyone who has signed up for a tournament and does not give 24 hours notice prior to the start of the event or does not show up, will be charged for the cost of the event ( to include entry fee and golf cart charges). Two infractions of this policy will result in the player being unable to participate in ALL tournaments. Members who wish to qualify for the Lincoln/Louisquisset tournament MUST play in at least two (2) club events in advance. If a player withdraws from a tournament after personalized favors have been ordered, the player will be responsible for the cost of the favor. Pg. 8

Tee Times Starting the 1st weekend in May reserved tee times will be required. Tee times have been established between 7:30 and 9:20. Tee times will be required Saturday, Sunday and Holidays only. Members will be required to reserve tee times beginning Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. One person from each foursome will be required to call the golf shop to reserve a tee time and give the names of his/her playing partners. Players not wishing to reserve tee times may arrive at the golf course at approximately 11:30. At this time morning players should start to complete their rounds and golf carts will becoming off the golf course in 10 minute intervals. This will allow for little to no wait for carts for afternoon players. Players who reserve tee times and do not show up for or cancel their tee time at least 24 hours in advance will be billed for all appropriate fees (both cart fees and guest fees). Players will not be billed for fees if play or golf cart use is restricted due to weather conditions. .

Leagues

All leagues are required to have a minimum of 36 players to close the course. Leagues that do not meet the minimum will have to open the course for regular. Leagues have the option tp pay for the 36 players and close the course. Pg. 9

Handicaps 1. All players are encouraged to post a score for each and every round of golf they play, including away scores. 2. All players who maintain a handicap must adjust scores based on Equitable Stroke control Chart. 3. All players must have an up to date handicap to participate in club tournaments and leagues. 4. The Handicap Chairman has the responsibility of making certain that a player's USGA Handicap Index reflects his ability. Under the following circumstances it will be necessary to adjust a player’s USGA Handicap Index: A. failure to post a score. B. not adjusting scores based on ESC. C. deliberately reporting more or fewer strokes than actually scored. D. deliberately taking extra strokes to inflate a score. 5. If a player repeatedly fails to meet responsibilities under the USGA Handicap System, the Handicap Chairman shall withdraw the players USGA Handicap Index. 6. All handicap decisions will be base on the USGA Handicap System. 7.

For those maintaining a handicap, failure to post scores will result in the following disciplinary actions: a. a penalty round will be submitted, noted by a "P" b. notification that your handicap has been adjusted c. your handicap being suspended, not being able to participate in any tournaments or leagues. d. notification that your golfing privileges have been revoked. 8. New members are reminded that they must submit five 18 hole rounds to have a handicap.

9. Handicaps are based on your last 20 scores in which the computer uses the lowest 10. 10. Trophy Tournaments and Club Championship require a player to have 10 scores submitted from the current season.
