Bentwater Golf Club opened in the summer of 2000 and features and 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, and restaurant. We are a semi-private club offering 3 different types of memberships. There are many benefits of becoming a member at Bentwater; a few include unlimited green fees, preferred tee times, discounts off all pro shop merchandise, and member only tournaments. We offer at least 12 Member Only golf tournaments each year; including scrambles, best ball, your traditional Club Championship, Member-Guest, and Member-Member.

At Bentwater we have 3 PGA Members who can offer golf lessons, clinics, and much more. Our Director of Instruction has over 25 years of experience, and offers many different lesson packages.

The Bentwater Golf Club Experience Bentwater Golf Club is said to be emerging as one of Atlanta’s best semi-private golf courses. This Mike Dasher layout opened in the summer of 2000 and is nestled among the charming 1,700 home community developed by Cousins Properties. In May 2004, Cousins Properties hired Honours Golf to manage the entire golf operation. If you enjoy playing a golf course in superb condition, with well-manicured tees and fairways, pristine bent grass greens and perfectly raked bunkers, then you are going to love Bentwater! It features an 18-hole championship daily fee golf course, driving range and restaurant. The layout exudes a warm, natural feel with several water features throughout the course. You’ll find rolling terrain, with Mike Dasher deftly utilizing the elevation changes while limiting their severity.

Along with outstanding course conditions and layout, Bentwater Golf Club and Honours Golf offers some of the friendliest service you’ll experience in the South. Bentwater knows how to welcome golfers and you’ll see it in the little things…..from ice-chilled apples on the 1st & 10th tee, to ice-cold towels delivered to you on a sweltering day, to the freshly baked cookies served to you after your lunch. After your round of golf, stop by Bentwater’s chalet-styled clubhouse where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends, an after-round cocktail, or casual dinner while over looking the striking views of Red Top Mountain.

The Golf Course Located in Acworth, Georgia, you’ll discover one Atlanta’s best courses. Boasting almost 7,000 yards, this 18-hole Mike Dasher design is elegant in nature yet a test to true golf. Dasher, who worked with world renown golf course architect Arthur Hills, set out to create a traditional parkland layout. This Northwest Atlanta golf course offers plenty of ample acreage around the tee boxes and greens along with numerous buffer zones. You’ll find many holes play down hill offering generous fairways and spectacular views of Red Top Mountain and plenty of uphill shots to balance out your round. Factor in modest elevation changes and water features including the Westbrook Creek and you’re definitely in for a challenge. A few holes offer multi-tiered greens that will put your putting skills to the test along with several, subtle greens which are less severe however, you’ll find equally challenging. Throughout your round, you may be occasionally enticed to take demanding shots to gain the competitive edge. There are plenty of opportunities to test your skills here; you’ll need nearly every club in your bag to navigate this course successfully. Along with an enjoyable layout, Bentwater also rates high in scenic appeal. You’ll find striking views of Red Top Mountain along with plenty of ponds, creeks, wetlands and scrub areas along the way, that naturally add to the beauty of Bentwater. The surrounding hardwood and pine forests native to the northwest Atlanta region add to the tranquil setting.

Club Amenities—Food & Beverage The Tavern The Tavern at Bentwater is the perfect place to enjoy a friendly, casual dining atmosphere with your family and friends. The Tavern has an extensive menu prepared by Executive Chef Carl Deichsel who brings with him over 20 years experience as an executive chef at many worldclass hotels and golf courses. With a variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, melts, wraps & signature items (29 selections to be exact) there is sure to be something to please everyone! Also to compliment your culinary favorites, The Tavern also offers a choice of top-shelf liquors, an intimate wine selection, and assorted non-alcoholic drinks. The Tavern is open for lunch seven days per week (11 am – 3 pm), dinner on Friday evenings, and breakfast Friday – Sunday. A special treat on Sundays is our very popular Sunday Brunch from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Reservations are required on holidays.

Banquets & Receptions The Tavern at Bentwater also provides the perfect setting for an intimate party or private function. From parties & showers to weddings and receptions, the Tavern is a great place for your event. The two dining rooms are the perfect size to host events up to 65 people. The dining rooms in conjunction with the Veranda (which has a spectacular view over the golf course) is large enough to host events up to 100 people. Banquet menu selections include a large selection of hors d’ oeuvres, carving stations, plated dinners (up to 4 courses), gourmet desserts and even a chocolate fountain. The Tavern staff meets every need from set up to break down and guarantees impeccable customer service for you and your guests, ensuring an event to remember!

Club Amenities — The Learning Center Private lessons & clinics Bentwater Golf Club has (3) PGA Members on staff, and offers several different options for instruction including private lessons, group lessons, or clinics. The Learning Center at Bentwater is operated by Director of Instruction, Mark Anderson. Mark has been a PGA Member since 1987 and has over 25 years of teaching experience. Before arriving at Bentwater in the summer of 2005, Mark spent six years at Sea Island Golf Club working under a few of the Top 100 Golf Teachers in the country such as Jack Lumpkin, Gale Peterson and Todd Anderson. Mark is also trained in laser optics putting, a system invented by Mark’s colleague, Mike Shannon who has worked with over 150 PGA Tour Players. Mark is also a successful player as he earned the 2005 Georgia PGA Player of the Year in the East Chapter. He has competed in (3) PGA Events, (9) Nationwide events and qualified for (2) U.S. Junior Amateurs. Video Analysis If you like to see yourself on film, Mark has a state of the art video system and offers video analysis with many of his lesson packages. It is very revealing to see your swing on a split screen beside the top players in the world. Video analysis also gives you the opportunity to see how your swing develops over a period of time. Clinics / Group Lessons Mark loves teaching and offers many clinics throughout the year for juniors, ladies, and couples. Mark has helped many junior golfers win state championships and earn college scholarships. Our monthly newsletter and website will keep all members informed of the different clinics and lesson packages.

Frequently Asked Questions Q: What are your member cart fees? A: Our cart fees are $18 per person for eighteen holes and $12 per person for nine holes or anytime after twilight begins. Q: Can members walk? A: Yes, walking is allowed. You may walk anytime during the week and after 12:00 on the weekend and holidays. Q: Can I bring a pull cart if I am walking? A: If walking you must carry your bag, as pull carts are not allowed. Q: May I bring a guest to play? A: Yes, guest of our members are always welcomed. Q: How much will my guest have to pay? A: Bentwater offers an accompanied guest rate. It is $10 off the regular priced green fee for that day. Q: Is the initiation fee a one time payment? A: The initiation fee is a one time payment as long as you continue your membership month to month. Members who discontinue their membership will have to pay the initiation fee again at reinstatement. Q: Are range privileges included in all membership dues? A: We do not include a range fee in your monthly dues, as some individuals use the range far less than others. We do offer a range plan that you may add to any membership. For a single membership it is $35 a month and for a family membership it is $50 a month. Members must sign up for 12 consecutive months. Q: What if the pro shop doesn’t have specific merchandise that I want? A: If we do not have that special something you are looking for, our staff will be happy to place a special order. Q: Are there any food minimums that I must fulfill? A: There are no minimum charges. Q: Can any membership type participate in Member Only tournaments? A: All membership types are allowed to participate in our Member Only tournaments. Q: Can I bring my own snacks and drinks? A: We do not allow outside food and beverage. Our restaurant is fully stocked to meet your needs and we run a beverage cart every day. Q: Does the golf shop offer club repair? A: Our golf shop currently offers grip replacement and minor shaft repair. Our staff will be happy to ship your damaged club back to the manufacturer for major repairs.

Rules & Regulations Tee Times Members may book tee times two weeks (14 days) in advance, and the general public may book tee times one week (7 days) in advance. Golf outings of 24 or more golfers may book twelve months in advance with a $250 deposit. Dress Code Appropriate golf attire is required at all times on the driving range and golf course. Golfers must wear a shirt with a collar (mock turtles are allowed) and may wear Bermuda shorts or walking shorts. Cutoff pants, athletic shorts, swim-suits, blue jeans (any type of denim), and jogging clothes are not considered appropriate golf attire. Golf shoes are requested, but no metal spikes are allowed. Soft-soled tennis shoes are allowed. Merchandise Members receive a 15% discount off the retail price on all pro shop merchandise. Our golf shop staff will be happy to special order any golf club or accessory that we don’t stock in our shop. Walking Walking while playing is allowed anytime during the week and after 12:00 on weekends and holidays. Please note - all golfers who walk are required to carry their bag as pull carts are not permitted. Handicaps All members receive a USGA Handicap card from the Georgia State Golf Associaton. This card is updated every 28 days. It is the member’s responsibility to post their scores in the handicap computer every time they play their own individual ball for 9 or 18 holes. Changes / Termination of Membership All changes in your membership need to be done in writing before the last day of the month. Verbal changes to your membership will not be honored by our accounting department. Suspension of Membership The club reserves the right to suspend / terminate memberships for the following reasons: -Submitting false information on the application -Exhibiting unsatisfactory behavior, conduct, or appearance, -Failure to pay dues, fees, or club accounts in a timely manner. -Failed to abide by the rules and regulations as set forth for the use of the club facilities. -Treated the personnel, employees or the club in an unacceptable manner. Inactive Status Memberships may be placed on inactive status for medical reasons one time during the life of the membership. The inactive status may last up to twelve months and the member will pay a $25.00 per month fee. An inactive member has no privileges at the facility and is not allowed to use the golf course or driving range. At the end of the Inactive Period, the Member pays no initiation fee to regain active status. All changes to membership must be made in writing and will take place on the 1st day of the next month.
