Come and celebrate 6:30 Mass with them! Trunk or Treat Parking Ushers Needed! We need a few good dads…to be parking ushers for Trunk or Treat. In order to keep the parking lot safe for the event, we are looking for dads to direct traffic from 5:30 to 6:00, and then you are free to join your family for the fun. If you are able to help, please contact Laura Weber in the parish office at 492-7318 or
[email protected].
Trunk or Treat – New this Year! Holy Spirit’s annual event will be Saturday, October 29, from 6pm-8pm In an effort to make Trunk or Treat safe for everyone, we are changing the layout of the event this year. Families are asked to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, and candy to the designated no-car area of the parking lot. This will allow the kids to trick-or-treat amongst families without fear of moving cars. Those parishioners wishing to decorate their trunks for the event are welcome to do so, and will be parked along the west side of the open space. Those not decorating their cars are asked to park at the north end of the parking lot. Thank you for helping to keep our Holy Spirit kids safe!

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month! We are unique and beautiful in our own way. This month we would like to spotlight our friends with Down syndrome. What is Down syndrome?
Down syndrome occurs when an individual has a full or partial extra copy of chromosome 21. This additional genetic material alters the course of development and causes the characteristics associated with Down syndrome.
Down syndrome is the most commonly occurring chromosomal condition. One in every 691 babies in the United States is born with Down syndrome – about 6,000 each year.
There are approximately 400,000 people living with Down syndrome in the United States.
Down syndrome occurs in people of all races and economic levels.
Please join us for a “Dress Down for Down Syndrome Day” on October 26, 2016. Holy Spirit School will be sharing this day with our friends at Nativity Parish School. Students and staff will be able to “dress down” (out of uniform) to bring attention to Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Please bring any donation that you would like to participate….how about 21 pennies to mark the 21st chromosome?. All proceeds will go to the First Downs For Down Syndrome and Kansas City Down Syndrome Guild. DOWN SYNDROME WALK 2016 FUN!!!!
