Have you met our tenant...? Oliver Schmidt, Head of Design in "EFS Gesellschaft fuer Hebe- und Handhabungstechnik mbH" / Germany and Director of "EFS Handling Equipment (Beijing) Co., Ltd." EFS, founded in 1996 and located in Nordheim, Baden Wuerttemberg / Germany is a specialist for pneumatic handling systems which are mainly used in the automobile industry. Their manipulators and assist devices are used by Daimler, BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW etc.

Dear tenants and friends, the nice weather has finally reached Beijing and we all look forward to some great indoor and outdoor events this summer! First of all, there are only a few more places left for the German Centre Summer Hike to Yunmengshan this Saturday. Sign up quickly if you had not done so yet! Further, make sure you mark Saturday, 29th June 2013 in your calendar for our annual tenants' meeting. This year, it will be a Family Farm Day! ...that the 9th China (Beijing) International Garden Expo will grandly open on 18th May, located on the bank of Yongding River in Fengtai District of Beijing City? The Beijing Garden Expo will take place from 18th May to 18th November 2013. The area of 513 hectares will display to the fullest the special classic gardens from 34 foreign and 59 Chinese cities. The Expo is divided into "one axis, two points, three zones and five parts". "One axis" is the main transportation line and public rest area of the garden; "two points", the Expo Museum and Jinxiu Valley located in the west and east of the garden separately, constitute the highlights of the Expo; "three zones" consist of Fengtai Park Zone, Zhongguancun Science and Technology exhibition parks; "five parks" finally encompass the five core exhibition parks: Traditional, Creative, Modern, Ecological, and International Exhibition Park. Monday, 22 April 2013 --- United Family Hospital Doctor on Air Pollution Health Effects in Beijing On Monday, 22 April 2013, Beijing United Family Hospital's Dr. Saint Cyr clarified facts and dispelled myths surrounding pollution in Beijing and told our participants which steps they should take to limit their risks. With respect to healthy indoor air, he especially emphasized the importance of employing air filters while also periodically ventilating indoor spaces with fresh air from outside. Dr. Saint Cyr advocated outdoor protection from pollution as well, such as the use of N95 masks, and school adoption of air action plans with respect to outdoor recess, physical education and organized sports. The team of the German Centre Beijing invites all those interested and willing to take on the challenge of climbing the famous mountains at Yun Meng Shan Forest Park (www.yunmengshan.net). Our coach will leave at 9 a.m. from Landmark Towers. Return to Beijing is planned at approx. 19.00h. The participation fee includes park entrance fee and snack sandwiches. Important: Please bring good hiking shoes and enough water and food for the day. Bizarre Karstfelsen, naturbelassene Flüsse, Wasserfälle, Höhlen, Reisterrassen. Guizhou ist eine der ärmsten Provinzen Chinas, aber ihre unberührten Landschaften zählen zu den schönsten des Landes. Noch sind die Provinz und ihre Naturschönheiten vom Tourismus kaum erschlossen. Guizhou ist Chinas grüne Perle, die darauf wartet, entdeckt zu werden. Together with the German Chamber of Commerce we will hold an event on 25 June (Tuesday), informing about the new entry exit law, effective from 1 Juli 2013. Foreigners applying for a Chinese visa will face several new regulations, including stricter control and shorter deadlines as well as severe punishment for both sides, employee and employer. The event shall help to strengthen everybody's awareness and clarify some practical issues regarding the new law. Our second event on 27 June (Thursday) will be held together with the German Chamber of Commerce and the German Embassy to inform about the application process for a business visa to Germany and common issues HR departments face. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The German Centre Beijing is currently home to around 100 companies and institutions. Ever since we opened our doors more than ten years ago, we have held an annual event for our tenants, partners, friends and families. This year we invite you to join our Family Farm Day for getting to know each other better within our German Centre community in a casual atmosphere outside of Beijing's city center! Saturday, 29nd June 2013 from 15:00h to 19:30h in Agrilandia Italian Farm Beijing in Shunyi District. Expect an afternoon of fun and sports games, a large children's corner, Beijing Beatles music, German barbecue and beer - and our traditional Lucky Draw (for tenants only). Shuttle buses will leave from the German Centre (Landmark Towers) at 13:30h. After the event, shuttle buses will return to the German Centre from 19:30h onwards.
