Communal Anointing of the Sick Next Saturday, April 7th a communal anointing of the sick will take place at the 5PM Mass. Divine Mercy Sunday In the Jubilee Year 2000, Pope John Paul II proclaimed that from that year forward the Second Sunday of Easter would be celebrated as Divine Mercy Sunday. This was proclaimed at the Canonization Mass of St. Faustina Kawalska, who worked throughout her life to make all aware of the merciful love of God. St. Faustina (1905–1938) was born and raised in Poland. Following a vocation to religious life, she was accepted by the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. As a member of the Congregation, she worked as a cook, gardener, and porter. In her spiritual life, her contemplation on the Mercy of God led her to develop a childlike trust in God and deep love for her neighbor. In her years in the convent, St. Faustina heard a call from God to make God’s mercy known to the world so that the world may more fully receive God’s healing grace. St. Faustina promoted the Chaplet of Divine Mercy which consists of the recitation of prayers to the Eternal Father with the use of the rosary for the sake of Christ’s sorrowful passion. The Chaplet is prayed as follows: 1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross, one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed. 2. On the Our Father beads, recite the following: “Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.” 3. On the ten Hail Mary beads, say the following: “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” 4. Repeat step two and three for all five decades. 5. Conclude by reciting three times: “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.” Read more about the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Rosary. When celebrating Divine Mercy Sunday, the faithful are called to reflect more personally on the graces won through the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this way their hearts may be more fully aware of the mercy of God for them personally and for the sake of the world.

Anuncios Parroquiales Pascua 2018 Queridos Parroquianos y Amigos Cada Domingo nosotros decimos estas palabras “que fue sepultado, que resucitó al tercer día según las Escrituras” (Corintios 15,4), cuando profesamos nuestra fe en Credo de Nicea, pero sabemos lo que significa?. En las Escrituras Dios hizo promesas a la gente y les dio señales de su presencia entre ellos. Catecismo de La Iglesia Católica ( 638) nos dice que Resurrección de Jesús es el centro de nuestra fe y la fe de primera comunidad cristiana. Intentemos tener la misma fe que los primeros cristianos, quienes creyeron que Cristo había realmente resucitado y conquistado la muerte. La Resurrección de Cristo los lleno de esperanza que algún día compartiríamos con El nueva vida. Ellos seguían sus pasos hacia la vida eterna con el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. 01 de abril de 2018 Domingo de Pascua La Resurrección del Señor Jn 20, 1-9 El primer día después del sábado, estando todavía oscuro, fue María Magdalena al sepulcro y vio removida la piedra que lo cerraba. Echó a correr, llegó a la casa donde estaban Simón Pedro y el otro discípulo, a quien Jesús amaba, y les dijo: "Se han llevado del sepulcro al Señor y no sabemos dónde lo habrán puesto". Salieron Pedro y el otro discípulo camino del sepulcro. Los dos iban corriendo juntos, pero el otro discípulo corrió más aprisa que Pedro y llegó primero al sepulcro, e inclinándose, miró los lienzos puestos en el suelo, pero no entró. En eso llegó también Simón Pedro, que lo venía siguiendo, y entró en el sepulcro. Contempló los lienzos puestos en el suelo y el sudario, que había estado sobre la cabeza de Jesús, puesto no con los lienzos en el suelo, sino doblado en sitio aparte. Entonces entró también el otro discípulo, el que había llegado primero al sepulcro, y vio y creyó, porque hasta entonces no habían entendido las Escrituras, según las cuales Jesús debía resucitar de entre los muertos. Ogłoszenia Parafialne Niedziela Wielkanocna Pierwszego dnia po szabacie, wczesnym rankiem, gdy jeszcze było ciemno, Maria Magdalena udała się do grobu i zobaczyła kamień odsunięty od grobu. Pobiegła więc i przybyła do Szymona Piotra i do drugiego ucznia, którego Jezus miłował, i rzekła do nich: „Zabrano Pana z grobu i nie wiemy, gdzie Go położono”. Wyszedł więc Piotr i ów drugi uczeń i szli do grobu. Biegli oni obydwaj razem, lecz ów drugi uczeń wyprzedził Piotra i przybył pierwszy do grobu. A kiedy się nachylił, zobaczył leżące płótna, jednakże nie wszedł do środka. Nadszedł potem także Szymon Piotr, idący za nim. Wszedł on do wnętrza grobu i ujrzał leżące płótna oraz chustę, która była na Jego głowie, leżącą nie razem z płótnami, ale oddzielnie zwiniętą na jednym miejscu. Wtedy wszedł do wnętrza także i ów drugi uczeń, który przybył pierwszy do grobu. Ujrzał i uwierzył. Dotąd bowiem nie rozumieli jeszcze Pisma, które mówi, że On ma powstać z martwych. J 20, 1-9 Wielkanoc 2018 r. Drodzy parafianie i przyjaciele, W każdą niedzielę, w czasie Mszy św., wypowiadamy te słowa: " … zmartwychwstał trzeciego dnia, zgodnie z Pismem" (1 Koryntian 15: 4), kiedy wyznajemy naszą wiarę - Credo Nicejskie. Ale czy wiemy, co te słowa znaczą? W całym Piśmie Świętym Bóg złożył obietnice Swojemu ludowi i dał wiele znaków Swojej obecności wśród niego. Katechizm Kościoła Katolickiego (638) mówi nam, że: "Zmartwychwstanie Chrystusa jest kulminacyjną prawdą naszej wiary w Chrystusa. Pierwsza wspólnota chrześcijańska wierzyła w nią i przeżywała ją jako prawdę centralną, przekazaną przez Tradycję, jako prawdę fundamentalną, potwierdzoną przez pisma Nowego Testamentu, przepowiadaną jako część istotna Misterium Paschalnego tak samo jak Krzyż:". Starajmy się mieć tę samą wiarę pierwszych chrześcijan, którzy wierzyli, że Chrystus prawdziwie zmartwychwstał i zwyciężył śmierć! To właśnie napełniało ich nadzieją, że pewnego dnia staną się uczestnikami tego nowego życia. Oni naśladując Jezusa Chrystusa doszli do życia wiecznego z Ojcem, Synem i Duchem Świętym. Cieszmy się zatem, że zostaliśmy wezwani przez Boga, aby dzielić życie w Chrystusie, abyśmy mogli śpiewać "ALLELUJA" nie tylko w Niedzielę Wielkanocną, ale także kiedyś wraz z Zachęcamy do uroczystego świętowania Wielkiego Czwartku, Wielkiego Piątku, Wigilii Paschalnej oraz Wielkanocy w gronie parafian i przyjaciół. St. Mary’s Parish News Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord John 20:1-9

Mary of Magdala finds that the stone has been removed from Jesus' tomb. Background on the Gospel Reading Today we begin the Easter Season, our 50-day meditation on the mystery of Christ's Resurrection. Our Gospel today tells us about the disciples' discovery of the empty tomb. It concludes by telling us that they did not yet understand that Jesus had risen from the dead. Thus, the details provided are not necessarily meant to offer proof of the Resurrection. The details invite us to reflect upon a most amazing gift, that is faith in Jesus and his Resurrection. Each of the four Gospels tells us that Jesus' empty tomb was first discovered by women. This is notable because in first-century Jewish society women could not serve as legal witnesses. In the case of John's Gospel, the only woman attending the tomb is Mary of Magdala. Unlike the Synoptic accounts, John's Gospel does not describe an appearance of angels at the tomb. Instead, Mary is simply said to have observed that the stone that had sealed the tomb had been moved, and she runs to alert Simon Peter and the beloved disciple. Her statement to them is telling. She assumes that Jesus' body has been removed, perhaps stolen. She does not consider that Jesus has been raised from the dead. Simon Peter and the beloved disciple race to the tomb, presumably to verify Mary's report. The beloved disciple arrives first but does not enter the tomb until after Simon Peter. This detail paints a vivid picture, as does the detail provided about the burial cloths. Some scholars believe that the presence of the burial cloths in the tomb offers evidence to the listener that Jesus' body had not been stolen (it is understood that grave robbers would have taken the burial cloths together with the body). The Gospel passage concludes, however, that even having seen the empty tomb and the burial cloths, the disciples do not yet understand about the Resurrection. In the passage that follows, Mary of Magdala meets Jesus but mistakes him for the gardener. In the weeks ahead, the Gospel readings from our liturgy will show us how the disciples came to believe in Jesus' Resurrection through his appearances to them. Our Easter faith is based on their witness to both the empty tomb and their continuing relationship with Jesus—in his appearances and in his gift of the Holy Spirit.

Abril 01, 2018 Easter, 2018 Dear Parishioners and Friends, Every Sunday we say these words “He rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (Corinthians 15:4) when we profess our faith in the Nicene Creed, but do we know what they mean? Throughout the scriptures God made promises to His people and gave them signs of His presence among them. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (638) tells us that “the Resurrection of Jesus is the central truth of our faith and the faith of the early Christian community.” Let us strive to have the same faith of the early Christians who believed Christ had truly risen and had conquered death! It was this that filled them with hope that they would one day share this new life. They would follow in his footprints leading to eternal life with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Let us then rejoice that we have been called by God to share life in Christ so that we might sing “ALLELUIA” not only on Easter Sunday but also with the angels and saints forever! Thank you for helping us be a guiding and healing presence to the parishioners of St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish.
