Dear Parishioners and Friends, Today we celebrate the Resurrec on of Christ the King. On this day, all believers of Christ express their joy gree ng each other with the words "Christ is risen" and answering "He is truly risen." Today we go to church to see the empty tomb of Christ, and to listen to the words of the Gospel according to John (20: 1-9), which talks about the reac on of Mary Magdalene and the apostles to Jesus' empty tomb. The empty tomb shows us the triumph of the Resurrec on. The fact that Christ has risen means that He lives. As in the past, today Christ meets with his followers and reveals his divine power and goodness. Today, we reach the end of the Paschal Mystery. The Resurrec on is the crowning achievement of his passion and death, the confirma on of His teaching, and the hope for all those whose bodies rest in their graves, and is also the founda on of our faith. St. Paul in his le er to the Corinthians (15:14) wrote: "If Christ did not rise from the dead, then preaching is vain, and our faith is in vain." Today I pray with you and for you, that we all fully understand the hope of our true voca on. This hope for today, for tomorrow and for all eternity is given to us by the Risen Christ! Dear friends, I would like to wholeheartedly thank all those who prepared the Easter decora ons, those who enriched the liturgy of the Holy Week and Easter with beau ful singing and music, those who prepared the catechumen, those who served at the altar. Thank you to all who have made dona ons for flowers and Easter decora ons. A hear elt thank you to those who understand the needs of the parish, and made generous dona ons to the holiday collec on. Due to the ever increasing costs associated with the maintenance of the parish and the school, I asked that every family or employed person made a gi in the amount of $70.00, if possible. As usual, there are those who surprise us with their generosity and give even bigger gi s. I pray that the Risen Lord generously rewards you for every good word, act of love and mercy, and every sacrifice make to meet the needs of the parish. With all my heart I greet all the sick. I welcome all parishioners, and dear guests who came from near and far. My heart rejoices today, when this temple filled with joyous Easter song. We relive the passion, death and resurrec on of Christ during every Mass. At every Mass we feed on the word of the Lord and the Eucharist. Every Mass announces the great feast we will a end at the house of the Lord, when we depart from this world to eternity. Do not underes mate this great gi ! Parish Transforma on News Parish Transforma on ac vi es con nue with our next mee ng on Thursday, 4/9/2015 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM in Borowczyk Hall. As noted in this space in the past, we are focusing on our various ini a ves under the major building blocks of Catechesis, Communio (a profound sense of community), and Missionary Spirit. Under the Communio building block specifically, we are pulling together a Hospitality Ministry to provide a more welcoming presence to old friends and new faces alike at our weekend liturgies. To this end, we have asked each parish organiza on to send at least one representa ve to the 4/9 mee ng. At this mee ng, the Hospitality Ministry coordinator Rich Kehoe will explain how parishioners can very simply and easily be part of this rewarding effort. If you are interested, please come. In an cipa on of the approaching 100-year anniversary of St. Constance Parish, you are invited to purchase from the "Tree of Life" a leaf on which you can place the names of your loved ones: parents, siblings, rela ves, friends, parishioners, priests, nuns, etc. Both the living and the dead can be named, so that their memory will last forever. You can have your own name on a leaf or choose to name your family. Proceeds from this project will be used for repairs of the church parking area and parish buildings. There are both large and small leaves on the "Tree of Life". For the engraving and moun ng of each small leaf, the dona on is $250.00, while for each large leaf it is $400.00. The number of leaves is limited and there may not be enough for everyone. Please visit the rectory office to complete all necessary transac ons.

ON MUSIC, WILLOW CREEK, AND EASTER SUNDAY copyright 2015 by John B. Reynolds ([email protected])

When it comes to praising God, music is a rockstar! Check it out. Per the Psalms: “Shout joyfully to God, all you on earth, sing praise to the glory of his name; proclaim his glorious name,” and “Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; let us proclaim the Rock of our salva on... let us joyfully sing psalms to him.” And per Samuel, when the ark of God came to Jerusalem, “David and all the Israelites made merry before the Lord with all their strength, with singing and with citharas, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.” Seems that for millenniums, humankind has been sending its music to the heavens. Well, David hadn’t seen anything yet. At least he hadn’t seen Tenth Avenue North and Chris Tomlin, the Chris an ar sts performing at Willow Creek Church in South Barrington, IL a few Friday nights ago. In truth, I don’t listen much to contemporary Chris an music. Not since Put Your Hand in the Hand hit the charts like forty years ago, I mean. But Cathy and Rob, the daughter and son-in-law of my friends Joe and Frances had extra ckets, so my wife and I got an invita on to join the party. And, man, what a party! Willow Creek was packed wall-to-wall. I heard someone say there were 7,000+ in a endance, and dancing in the aisles was way, way, way in vogue. A er one of Chris Tomlin’s offerings, Whom Shall I Fear (or, The God of Angel Armies), Frances looked at me and said, “I love that song.” I agreed. A er another of Tomlin’s songs, I Will Rise, Frances looked at me and said, “I want that song at my funeral.” I laughed. But the song I’m hanging onto at the moment--and hope to hang onto for a long, long me--is a selec on called Waterfall. And here’s the hook that has me hooked: “Your love is like a waterfall, waterfall/ Running wild and free/ You hear my heart when I call, when I call/ Deep calls to deep.” Psalm 42 has this reference: “Deep calls unto deep in the roar of your cataracts,” which I believe references the roar of raging waters. But I’m hanging onto the line for another reason… In San Antonio, at the corner of E. Guenther and King William Streets, carved into the sidewalk, are these words: Jesus is Alive. This deep but unexplainable truth is what we celebrate today. Everything we know… everything we believe…brings us to this moment. To the stone rolled away. To the empty tomb. To the burial cloths rolled up and set aside. We are part of something extraordinary here. We are part of something so grand and so massive and so incomprehensible, we can’t even begin to fathom it. And yet we believe. Which, I suppose, is why we call it faith. And faith brings us here, to the Great Sunday. “For God so loved the world…” Deep calls to deep. “Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised.” Deep calls to deep. “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” Deep calls to deep. Like I said, when it comes to praise-giving, music is a rockstar! Well, Willow Creek was rocking that night, so if music really is the food of love as Shakespeare wrote, then truly, play on, play on, play on. Happy Easter.

Drodzy Parafianie i Przyjaciele, Dziś przeżywamy uroczystosć Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego. W tym dniu wszyscy wierzący w Chrystusa wyrażają swoją radosć, pozdrawiając się słowami” „Chrystus Zmartwychwstał, na co odpowiadamy „Prawdziwie zmartwychwstał”. Dzisiaj idziemy do kościoła aby zobaczyć symboliczny pusty grób Chrystusa i wysłuchać słów Ewangelii według św. Jana (20:1-9), która mówi o reakcji Marii Magdaleny i Apostołów na widok grobu w którym nie znaleźli ciała Jezusa. Pusty grób mówi nam, że życie Jezusa nie zakończyło się śmiercią i złożeniem ciała do grobu, ale tryumfem Zmartwychwstania. To, że Chrystus zmartwychwstał oznacza dla nas wszystkich, że On żyje. Tak jak kiedyś, dziś również Chrystus spotyka się z ludźmi, objawia swoją Boską moc, rozdziela dobroć serca i rozlewa milość. Dzisiaj przeżywamy Misterium Paschalne do końca. Zmartwychwstanie jest ukoronowaniem Jego męki i śmierci, jest potwierdzeniem Jego nauczania, jest nadzieją dla wszystkich, których ciała spoczywają, czy spoczną w grobach, jest fundamentem naszej wiary. Święty Paweł w liście do Koryn an (15:14) napisał: „Jeśli Chrystus nie powstał z martwych, próżne jest wtedy przepowiadanie nasze, próżna jest wiara nasza”. Dzisiaj modlę się z wami i za was , abyśmy wszyscy zrozumieli do końca, nadzieję naszego powołania. Tę nadzieję na dziś, na jutro i na całą wieczność daje nam Zmartwychwstały Chrystus! Moi drodzy, pragnę z całego serca podziękować tym wszystkim, którzy przygotowali dekoracje świąteczne, tym którzy ubogacili liturgię Wielkiego Tygodnia oraz liturgię świąteczną pięknym śpiewem i muzyką, tym którzy przygotowali katechumenów, tym którzy posługiwali przy ołtarzu. Dziękuję wszystkim, którzy złożyli ofiary na kwiaty i dekoracje świąteczne. Z całego serca dziękuję tym, którzy rozumieją potrzeby parafii i byli dodatkowo hojni składając ofiary do kolekty świątecznej. Ze względu na ciągle rosnące wydatki związane z utrzymaniem parafii i szkoły, prosiłem, aby każda rodzina lub osoba pracująca złożyła w darze $70.00, oczywiście o ile jest to możliwe. Jak zwykle są tacy, którzy zaskakują nas swoją ofiarnością i składają jeszcze większe ofiary. Modlę się, aby Zmartwychwstały Pan hojnie wam wynagrodził za każde dobre słowo, każdy czyn miłości i miłosierdzia, każdą ofiarę którą składacie na potrzeby parafii. Z calego serca pozdrawiam wszystkich chorych. Witam wszystkich parafian, drogich gości, którzy przybyli z bliska i z daleka. Raduje się dzisiaj moje serce, kiedy ta wypełniona świątynia rozbrzmiewa waszym radosnym wielkanocnym śpiewem. Każda Msza święta jest uobecnieniem ofiary męki, śmierci i zmartwychwstania Chrystusa. W każdej Mszy świętej karmimy się słowem Pana i Eucharys ą. Każda Msza święta jest zapowiedzą wielkiej uczty w domu Pana, kiedy z tego świata przejdziemy do wieczności. Nie lekceważmy tego wielkiego daru! 100 LECIE PARAFII W. KONSTANCJI W związku ze zbliżającym się 100-leciem naszej parafii, które będziemy celebrować w październiku 2016 roku, ks. proboszcz Tadeusz Dzieszko ogłasza konkurs na LOGO. Podpisane prace należy zwracać do biura na plebanii do 12-go kwietnia tego roku. Następne spotkanie komitetu obchodów 100-lecia parafii będzie w czwartek 16go kwietnia, o godz. 7:00-ej wieczorem, w Sali ks. Borowczyka. Komitet rozstrzygnie kongurs i wybierze najładniejsze LOGO. Jeśli ktoś z was ma ciekawe zdjęcia starego i nowego kościoła, lub inne ciekawe zdjęcia z życia parafii, prosimy o przyniesienie do biura na plebanii.

KS. TADEUSZ DZIESZKO ZAPRASZA NA NIEZWYKŁĄ PIELGRZYMKĘ 26-go lipca wyruszy z Chicago niezwykła pielgrzymka-wycieczka na Alaskę. PIERWSZA SOBOTA MIESIĄCA W miesiącu kwietniu nabożeństwo pIerwszej soboty do Matki Bożej Fa mskiej zostaje przeniesione na drugą sobotę, czyli 11-go kwietnia. O godz. 7:00 wieczorem Różaniec i Koronka, o godz. 8:00-ej wieczorem Msza św. do Matki Bożej za chorych i o godz. 9:00-ej wieczorem Nabożeństwo Mediugorskie o uwolnienie i uzdrowienie.

ADORACJA NAJŚWIĘTSZEGO SAKRAMENTU W każdy wtorek w naszym kościele odbywa się Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu. Rozpoczynamy o godz. 8:30 rano, a kończymy o 7:00 wieczorem. Koronka do Bożego Miłosierdzia o godzinie 3:00pm. W czasie całego dnia Adoracji można składać osobiste intencje do skrzynki, która znajduje się na środku kościoła. W tych intencjach modlimy się na zakończenie adoracji o godz. 7:00 wieczorem oraz podczas Mszy św. o 7:15 w j. polskim. W ciągu całego dnia adoracji polecamy Panu Bogu szczególnie dwie intencje: modlimy się o pokój na całym świecie oraz o powołania do służby Bożej w Kościele.e.

DRZEWO ŻYCIA Z OKAZJI JUBILEUSZU 100 LECIA PARAFII SW. KONSTANCJI Serdecznie zapraszamy abyście z okazji zbliżającego się jubileuszu 100-lecia Parafii św. Konstancji, mogli umieścić imiona i nazwiska waszych bliskich: rodziców, rodzeństwa, krewnych, przyjaciół, parafian, kapłanów, sióstr zakonnych itd. na liściach "Drzewa życia". Można umieścić zarówno żyjących jak i zmarłych, tak by pamięć po nich trwała wiecznie. Można umieścić swoje imię i nazwisko lub też swojej rodziny. Ofiarą, którą składacie będzie przeznaczona na remont parkingu kościelnego i inne remonty budynków parafialnych. W "Drzewie życia" mamy liście mniejsze i większe. Za wygrawerowanie i zamontowanie liścia mniejszego składamy ofiarę $250.00 natomiast za wygrawerowanie i zamontowanie liścia większego $400.00. Liczba liści jest ograniczona i nie będzie wystarczająca dla wszystkich. Zapraszamy więc do naszego biura parafialnego, gdzie można dokonać wszelkich formalności.

Parafia Św. Konstancji jest modlitewną, opiekuńczą i otwartą na wszystkich wspólnotą Koœcioła Rzymsko-Katolickiego. Parafia, która została założona w 1916 r., przez polskich emigrantów, obecnie jest zróżnicowana kulturowo. Jako wspólnota parafialna tak podejmujemy nasze zadania, aby jeszcze lepiej dzielić się naszymi talentami, czasem i dobrami. Bap sms… We celebrate Bap sms in the English language on the first and third Sundays and in the Polish language on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Parents must par cipate in a Bap smal prepara on mee ng before a date can be scheduled. To register for a mee ng call the rectory secretary. Weddings… The Archdiocese of Chicago requires arrangements for weddings be made four months in advance. We at St. Constance strongly recommend at least six months before the date of marriage. You will need to meet with our deacon / priest before any other arrangements are made. Call the rectory for an appointment. Sacrament of the Sick… Call the Rectory to make arrangements for a priest. Please do not wait un l the person is unconscious or near death. Communion Calls… If you or someone you love are ill or home bound and would like to receive Communion, call the rectory to make arrangements for regular visits.

Chrzty… Sakrament Chrztu Świętego jest udzielany w języku angielskim i polskim. Chrzty w języku angielskim są w pierwszą i trzecią niedzielę, a w języku polskim w drugą i czwartą niedzielę każdego miesiąca. Rodzice są zobowiązani do wzięcia udziału w spotkaniu przygotowującym do tego sakramentu przed planowaną datą chrztu dziecka. Prosimy o skontaktowanie się z biurem parafialnym, aby zgłosić dziecko do chrztu. Sakrament Małżeństwa… Archidiecezja Chicago zaleca, aby osoby, które planują zawarcie sakramentu małżeństwa zgłosiły się do biura parafialnego co najmniej cztery miesiące przed datą ślubu. Chcielibyśmy i usilnie zalecamy, aby w naszej parafii okres przygotowania trwać sześć miesięcy. Prosimy, abyście najpierw ustalili termin w kościele, a następnie w innych miejscach. Zapraszamy więc do naszego biura parafialnego najwcześniej jak tylko jest to możliwe . Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych… Prosimy o kontakt z księdzem w celu ustalenia terminu przyjęcia tego sakramentu. Przypominamy, że nie wolno zwlekać z udzieleniem sakramentu chorych do momentu kiedy osoba będzie nieprzytomna lub bliska śmierci. Komunia Święta dla chorych… Jeśli ktoś z was lub waszych bliskich choruje i chciałby przyjąć Komunię Świętą, to prosimy o zgłoszenie osoby chorej do biura parafialnego, do osoby odpowiedzialnej za Duszpasterstwo chorych, aby ustalić datę odwiedzin w domu.
