Croydon School Awards The 2015 Croydon Secondary Schools Awards will take place on Thursday 26th March at the Fairfield Halls. Only one student from Year 9 and one student from Year 11 are nominated for each subject so it is a marvellous achievement. Congratulations to all the students who will be receiving their awards on Thursday. We hope that you and your families have a wonderful evening; the Collegiate is very proud of you all.

English and Mathematics Pre-Public Examinations #2 The PPE2s for all Year 11 students will run as follows:

Friday 27th March Periods 1 and 2, English Language examination; Periods 5 and 6, English Literature examination. Monday 13th April Periods 1 and 2, Mathematics Non calculator examination; Periods 5 and 6, Mathematics Calculator examination.

Year 11 English Literature and Language PPE Friday 27th March Timings for the day are: English Language am 8.20am Holding Rooms 8.30am Students arrive in the Main Hall 8.45am Students go to Exam Hall for a 9.00am start English Literature pm 1.10pm Holding Rooms 1.15pm Students arrive in the Main Hall 1.25pm Students go to Exam Hall for a 1.30 pm start. Pi Day To celebrate Pi Day, Miss Ogunseye, Director of Mathematics held a Pi Bee competition for students to prove how many decimal places they had memorised Pi to!

Ellen Stanley 11TMM was the overall winner, memorising Pi to an amazing 259 decimal places! Well done to everyone else who took part: Kevin Carreira VI/CCS, Saiphun Lyster 10PCS, Amanuel Yosief-Mussie VI/AKG, Mackenzie Swartz-Boyd 7STL, Felicity Colclough 8CYA, Benjamin Sosteric 11ELH, and Abigail Robertshaw 9OMM.

French Students Visitors On Wednesday, a group of 39 French students visited the Collegiate. It was a great opportunity to practise French “for real” and to talk about life in France and in England. German Trip to British Film Institute On Thursday 5th March, some Year 9 and 10 students went on a German study trip to the British Film Institute. We completed some activities based on German film clips in the morning and then watched a teenager’s film called “Wintertochter” or “Winter’s Daughter” in the afternoon. It was a great day!
