How to Download Lync from ANR SharePoint site
Purpose The procedures below provide outlined steps for downloading Lync 2010 from the ANR SharePoint site.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint You will be going to the ANR SharePoint site to obtain the Lync 2010 software file.
Installing Lync 2010 from SharePoint 1. Open Internet Explorer and type the link address below in the address bar to open SharePoint: https://share.anr.msu.edu/sites/Office2010. IMPORTANT NOTE: Only use Internet Explorer to access SharePoint
•
Login to SharePoint using your ANR account credentials.
2. Once logged in to SharePoint you will see a list of files available for download. Find the file LyncSetup or LyncSetup 64.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 3. Depending on your computer’s system type, you will pick either the LyncSetup or the LyncSetup 64 file. To determine which one to pick, go to Computer (or My Computer) in your Windows Start menu. •

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 4. In the computer properties window, look for System Type.

If your system type is 32-bit Operating System, choose the LyncSetup file
•
If you system type is 64-bit Operating System, choose the LyncSetup 64 file

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 5. Now go back to SharePoint and choose the file that matches you operating system by clicking on the dropdown menu arrow to the right of the file name. On the dropdown menu click: • •

6. A message will appear at the bottom of the Internet Explorer window. Click on Run in this window.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 7. After you have clicked Run, a Microsoft Lync 2010 Installer window will open. Wait for the installer to finish.
8. When the installer has finished, click the Install button on the Microsoft Lync 2010 Setup window.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 9. After the install has finished, click the Close button.
10. The Lync 2010 Sign-In window will open. Put your ANR email address in the textbox under Sign-In Address and click Sign In.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 11. A Lync-Services Sign In window will open. Do the following:
•
To the right of Account: type in your ANR email address
•
To the right of User name: type in your ANR username
•
To the right of Password: type in your ANR password
•
You can check the box next to Save my password, if you want
•
Click OK when you have all the text boxes filled.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 12. Another Lync-Sign In window will open. In this window you will: •
Click the checkbox next to Always trust this server, do not show me this again

Click the Connect button
13. Lync 2010 has been now installed. To start using Lync, you must first wait until the address book has synchronized. This may take up to 5 minutes.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 14. You will know that your address book has synchronized when you can type the last name of someone in the contact search box and his or her name appears below the search box.

Note: You can only add and then contact someone using Lync that has a @anr.msu.edu email address.

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 15. To add contacts you have searched for, to your contact list, do the following: • •
Click on the Plus Button dropdown menu to the right of the contacts name OR In the dropdown menu, click on Add to New Group

Downloading Lync 2010 from SharePoint 16. Type a name for the new group, and hit enter on your keyboard. You have now successfully added a contact to your Lync contact list and can begin using Lync to connect with that person and others you have added to your contact list.
