Team Competitions To make this interesting we do make a competition out of some of the exercises you will do today. The rules are:

 Teams to be randomly selected by draw.  Teams will be scored by the staff.  There will a prize for the winning team.

group, develop a shared picture of an effective team. Take a few minutes for each of the following:  As an individual, write down 3-characteristics of an

Communication Good communication plays a key role in team effectiveness. Remember that being a leader does not make you any more important than other team members so learn to listen.  Organize thoughts before

Effective Teams In Search and Rescue, it is important that we address team effectiveness since the ability of our units to work together as efficient teams could mean the difference between life and death for those we serve. Tangram Warm-Up Exercise Use the precut pieces of paper to form the following shapes. All the color sets have the same pieces. Split up the task and work as a team to resolve the puzzle, but do so without using verbal communication. Get as many done as possible in 10 minutes. Team Exercise  Each team will develop three examples of how each

of the five Basic Teamwork Principles could be applied to Search & Rescue.  Take 10 minutes to work on the problem.  As a group we will compare answers.
