Thinking about where to apply for…

12

Which summer schools should I apply for? Take time to think…. 1. What do I want to study? 2. How much can I afford to spend? 3. What do I want to get out of studying abroad on a summer school?

What do I want to get out of studying abroad? •

Improved employability? “One third of employers viewed a graduate with any overseas study experience as more employable”

• • •

Broaden your academic experience? e.g. final year dissertation, PG study Learn a new skill or hobby? Get to know another culture or language? Something else?

How much can I afford to spend? How much will it cost? • • • •

Use the Factsheets, website and research online Consider the exchange rate Cost of living: how does this compare to the UK? Source of income – Parents/Relatives? – Part time work in the UK? • Summer School bursary - £500 • Korea University bursaries

Expenditure • Accommodation (if not included) • Travel to and from the summer programme • Visa costs (if applicable) • Insurance • Vaccinations (if applicable) • Food and drink • Travelling
