REFUNDS

For programs canceled by the Recreation Department, registration fees will be returned in the full amount. If a registration is canceled by the participant before the registration deadline, the registration fee is refunded minus a $5 processing fee per program. For those unable to attend an activity, you may send someone in your place and must notify the Recreation Department. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS are given if a cancelation is requested after the registration deadline or when the registration fee is $5 or less.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

When a program is cancelled due to inclement weather, no refund is issued. If there is inclement weather, please call our hotline for up-to-date information at (952) 447-9825. If a program is cancelled BEFORE the program START time all participants will receive an email and a phone call. If a program is cancelled DURING the program time, all participants will receive a phone call.

Each program will have a listed minimum and maximum number of participants. If we do not reach the required minimum for a program by the registration deadline, the program is cancelled and participants refunded. Programs cannot accommodate more than the listed maximum.

Due to staff limitations many classes have registration limits. When classes have reached their maximum capacity, a wait list is started and kept in the order of the requests. Those on the wait list wait until an opening becomes available via cancellation. Every effort will be made to create additional class sessions, and you will be contacted if your registration is able to be accommodated.

Financial Aid is available for qualifying residents with financial limitations. Complete a scholarship application, which can be found online. Include the programs desired and amount you can afford. Once your application is received by the recreation coordinator, you will be contacted within 72 hours.

Mini Sport Camp with Skyhawks Mini Hawks helps children explore soccer, t-ball and basketball in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Games and activities help campers develop balance, hand-eye coordination and skills at their own pace. Wear t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes and bring a snack, sunscreen and a water bottle. All participants receive a t-shirt, soccer ball and merit award during camp. (Min 12, Max 24)

Join the recreation staff for fun and exciting activities in the park! Tot Lot will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for games, crafts, and plenty of fun. The fee includes a recreation T-Shirt (one per child for the summer). T-Shirts can be picked up at City Hall during regular business hours before the first day of Tot Lot. As soon as shirts are available for pick up we will email all registered participants. Start your summer out right with four days of non-stop fun at Lakefront Park. Each day is filled with games like dodgeball and ultimate frisbee, swimming, sandcastle contests and so much more. Archery Two Day Camp

Our playground program will be popping up at different neighborhood parks throughout the summer. Join us each week for afternoons of extreme fun playing games and experiencing new adventures. Playground will be held Monday through Thursday 12:30 – 3 p.m. Sign up for 1 week or all 6 weeks. There will be plenty of new things to do throughout the summer.

Come and learn a new outdoor skill. Basic Archery level camp. Learn proper techniques and improve skill through instruction and games. No experience necessary and all equipment is provided. Personal archery equipment will not be allowed at camp. Please bring a full water bottle and wear sunscreen each day. Closed toed shoes required. Multi-Sport Camp with Skyhawks

Skyhawks Multi-Sport Camp is designed to teach the fundamental skills of soccer, baseball, and basketball in four days. Athletes learn the rules and essentials of each sport through skill-based games and scrimmages. Please bring two snacks, sunscreen, baseball glove and a water bottle. Participants receive a t-shirt, soccer ball and merit award during camp. Go Fish!

Help expose a young person to the joys of fishing. These parent and child activities are geared toward children 5-10 years old. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your fishing skills, knowledge of fish and then try your luck at the lake. No experience necessary and all gear will be provided. Participants may bring their own pole and other equipment if desired. Don’t forget to pack a beverage and wear sunscreen! Fire Safety Camp

Fire Safety Camp has moved to Lakefront Park! This camp includes many safety topics, first aide, ambulance, water and boat safety, severe weather and so much more. All participants get a Safety Camp T-Shirt, available at City Hall during regular business hours before camp begins. Participants are emailed when shirts are available. Hot dog lunch is included. Bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen and clothes to get wet. Sign up early because spots fill up fast. Camp Fest While parents attend Lakefront Music Fest, kids can enjoy Camp Fest at Cleary Lake Park with Recreation staff. Play games, enjoy dinner and camp out! Adventure Camp – New Location, New Adventures!

We have moved camp to Lakefront Park to expand the program capabilities. Campers will have fun preparing for and competing in individual and team challenges. Campers will enjoy many fun activities including paddle boarding, fishing, archery and more. Bring lunch, water bottle, swimwear and towel each day. During the Thursday overnight (not required) participants pitch a tent and camp out (dinner and light breakfast provided for overnight). Join us for three hours of play at the Big Thrill Factory! Day of fun includes Laser Tag, Blacklight Ropes Course (must be 48” or taller for ropes course), Kids’ Fun Factory, Time Challenges, and 18-Hole Mini Golf. Splatmaster at MN Pro Paintball waiver required

MN Pro Paintball provides all gear and paintballs for each participant. Splatmaster is a specially modified, plastic, ‘Low Impact’ paintball gun. It is made with both safety and fun in mind. Recommended for ages 6-12, playing Splatmaster ensures the group gets to experience the fun of the special missions and walk away with no tears and all smiles. Participants must wear long pants, long sleeved shirts and closed toed shoes. Bring bag lunch. (Ages 12-15) Junior Leaders (JL) assist Recreation Leaders with Tot Lot (program details on page 4). While assisting during tot lot, JLs will be building leadership skills, increasing community involvement, providing positive role models and increasing knowledge for future job skills. Duties will include helping with check-in and check-out, setting up, participating in and eventually leading activities. All JLs, along with a parent, are required to attend the informational meeting on June 15 at 6 p.m. (weather permitting) Lakefront Park Shelter 1, alternate location City Hall Staff Lunchroom. Co-Rec Sand Volleyball League

Get a team together for sand volleyball at Sand Point Beach. Choose Tuesday league or Wednesday league. The 10 week league play begins May 3 (weather permitting). Each team will play at either 6 or 7 p.m. each night. Registration opens March 1, teams may register online, by phone or walk in. Full list of league rules can be found online. Co-Rec Teams are made up of 3 men and 3 women and roster are due by the second week of play. All players much be 18 years or older. Full list of league rules can be found online. Lakefront Park Pavilion Rental

The Lakefront Park Pavilion is an enclosed building suitable for small weddings, graduation parties, family reunions or meetings. The maximum capacity allowed for a rental group is 150 people, this includes indoor and outdoor space. Available rental hours are 8 a.m. – midnight. No reservations from December 1 – March due to the operation of the Pavilion as a warming house. Request a tour appointment by calling the Recreation Department, Mon. - Fri. Reservation details are final once submitted. Adjustment to location, time, or date must be made 7 or more days in advance, a fee of $50 is owed at the time of the adjustment. RENTAL FEES Rental fees are charged daily. A $200 damage deposit (due one week after your reservation is made) must accompany all rental fees. Resident

GARDEN PLOT SIZE AND FEE Plots at the Kop Community Garden at Lakefront Park, are Non-Resident filled according to the order of registration. Remaining plots Resident will become available to new gardeners on March 1. All 10’x10’ $25 10’x10’ $35 gardeners MUST attend the Annual Spring Meeting at Fire 10’x20’ $40 10’x20’ $50 Station 1 on April 20 6:30 p.m. Applicants will be notified of 20’x20’ $80 their plot number and receive a copy of the season schedule 20’x20’ $70 at the annual spring meeting. There are 50 total plots of varying size and fees.

Rack slots at Sand Point Beach can be reserved for the summer season: $50/Residents; $100/ Non-Residents. The season is from April 1 – October 15. No watercraft may exceed the following dimensions: 20 feet in length, 36 inches in width and 20 inches in depth. Watercrafts MUST be secured to assigned rack by owner’s device at the front and rear.

Boat Slips (Online Reservations Available)

Boat slips are available at Sandpoint Beach and Watzl’s Beach (7 slips at each location) for daytime use only, first come/first serve basis. There are 9 slips at each location that are available for overnight rental with 3-day advanced reservation. Unreserved slips are available for daytime use only first come/first served. Access to all slips is available daily from 5 a.m. -10 p.m. ONLY. No person is permitted in the park or at an overnight slip outside of park hours.
