Pudakul Aboriginal Cultural Tours is a 100 per cent Aboriginal owned and operated tourism business located just 50 minutes from Darwin enroute to Kakadu. Located just near Fogg Dam (close to Window on the Wetlands and the famous Jumping Crocodile cruises, Pudakul delivers an authentic Aboriginal experience.)

The Bush Tucker Walk showcases the rich local culture andamazing landscape, and offers the opportunity to see a didgeridoo and clapstick demonstration, and basket and dilly bag making. Learn about the common plant uses and engage with the local Aboriginal people over damper (bush bread) and billy tea.

Pudakul is the name of the macaranga tree (fresh water hibiscus), which is used to make spears. Pudakul offers a fascinating two-hour tour departing at 10:30am daily each week from early May to late October.

Combine your Pudakul tour with a Jumping Crocodile cruise at 9.00am followed by the Pudakul tour at 10.30am which ends with tea and damper, returning to Darwin around 1.30pm. Or do one of our combination tours combining the 2 hour cultural tour with either a 1 hour Jumping Crocodile cruise or 1 hour billabong boat cruise.

Tour Description/ Itinerary

The rich local culture and amazing landscape is showcased on this two-hour tour, from the traditional welcome to country, learning about local bush tucker, medicine, dilly bags and basket making, through to playing a didgeridoo or throwing a spear. A time to yarn and relax is all part of the tour as damper (bush bread) and tea is served straight from the fire.

Self-drive from Darwin for 50 minutes along the Arnhem Highway towards Kakadu. Pudakul is situated just 23 kilometres from Humpty Doo, before the famous Jumping Crocodile cruises.

Tour Description/ Itinerary

We drive approximately 60 minutes (100km) from Darwin to join a one hour crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River. More than 80,000 saltwater crocodiles roam the waterways of Northern Australia, you will have the opportunity to see the crocodiles up close. We will then travel to Pudakul Aboriginal Cultural Tours for a 2 hour experience learning about the local history and culture in a bush tucker walk and talk, have a go at throwing a spear, play a didgeridoo and more. Tea and damper in the bush is also included. A visit to the Top End would not be complete without coming with us and learning about our magnificent wetlands and how the people and animals move about and live in the environment. This tour is a magnificent adventure travelling a short distance from Darwin out to a hidden gem with an abundance of wildlife.

Tour Description/ Itinerary

Escape the crowds and learn more about the culture, wildlife and wetland region of the Northern Coastal Wetlands, one of the most unique regions of Australia. Experience the connection that people and animals have with the magnificent wetlands and learn about how they move about and live in this environment. After a 90 minute drive from Darwin, you will arrive at Corroborree Billabong for a one hour scenic boat cruise viewing an abundance of birds, crocodiles and other wildlife in their natural habitat. You will then travel 30 minutes to Pudakul Aboriginal Cultural Tours for a 2 hour experience learning about the local history and culture in a bush tucker walk and talk, including spear throwing lesson and didgeridoo playing.
