General Information oUR STAnDARDS STAFF our experienced staff – from coach drivers and tour guides to the personnel behind the scene – has committed itself to provide the best services and making the holidays of our guests most interesting, smooth and pleasant. our coach drivers have many years of experience, unblemished safety records and regular training. All our Guided Coach Tours are accompanied by friendly, experienced and bilingual tour guides (english/ Spanish). HoTeLS The hotels we choose for overnight stays are specially selected, charming and comfortable houses which belong to the best of their categories (mostly first class or excellently-appointed tourist superior class hotels). Air conditioning in German hotels is widespread but still not standard and therefore cannot be guaranteed. All rooms have private bath or shower/ WC. Most of the hotels offer a full breakfast buffet in the morning. Baggage handling (one piece per person) is provided. MeALS All accommodations include breakfast. Further information about the meals included in the tour price you will find next to the tour description (please see 'Services Included'). DAY 1: SUnDAY Frankfurt – Würzburg – Rothenburg ob der Tauber (D) Depart from Frankfurt in the morning for a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to Würzburg, on the banks of the river Main. enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Residence, a masterpiece of baroque architecture and UneSCo World Heritage Site. on the world famous Romantic Road we move on to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well-preserved ‘Jewel of the Middle Ages’. During a city walk, including a visit of St. Jacob’s Church with the Holy Blood Altar by Tilman Riemenschneider, you will experience the special flair of this unique town. Leisure time before in the evening our welcome dinner with complimentary drink will be served at the hotel. DAY 2: MonDAY Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Augsburg – Munich (B) Today we continue our trip along the Romantic Road. See charming villages like Dinkelsbühl or nördlingen before we arrive at Augsburg. We continue to the Bavarian capital, Munich. An orientation tour, passing nymphenburg Castle and the olympic Grounds, will give you a first impression of this splendid city before we check-in at our hotel. In the afternoon we will leave for a walk which will take us at 05:00 pm to the ‘Glockenspiel’ (carillon) at Marienplatz. The evening is free for own activities. DAY 3: TUeSDAY Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen – ettal – oberammergau – Füssen (B) Depending on the weather conditions on this day, drive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, situated at the foot of our highest mountain ‘Zugspitze’ and one of the most important wintersport towns in Southern Germany, before going on to the Benedectine abbey of ettal and to oberammergau. The village is internationally famous for its Passion Play – generally performed every ten years – and for its numerous buildings with tromp l'oeil (Lueftlmalerei) painted façades. on the way to our today’s destination, Füssen, we will make a short stop at the glorious rococo church in Wies. on sunny days, from there you can already see the fantastic Bavarian Alps. overnight at Luitpoldpark-Hotel o.s.

DAY 4: WeDneSDAY Füssen – Hohenschwangau – Linderhof – Rottenbuch – Füssen (B)

From Füssen it is only a short trip to Hohenschwangau and – located on the rugged hill above – the breathtaking fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, neuschwanstein! After the guided visit we continue to Linderhof on a scenic Alps tour through Austria. Linderhof is the only palace ‘Mad King Ludwig’ lived to see completed. In the later afternoon we arrive back to Füssen – not having missed to see another treasure of rococo architecture, the monastery church Rottenbuch. overnight at Luitpoldpark-Hotel o.s. DAY 5: THURSDAY Füssen – Lindau – Lake Constance (B) In the morning, after breakfast and check-out, we are heading to Lake Constance which we will arrive at its north shore, located between Germany, Switzerland and Austria. enjoy a walking tour of the beautiful village Lindau before we continue to Konstanz. The largest town at Lake Constance with a lot of historical interest is located at Germany's border with Switzerland and also the birthplace of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, the famous airship pioneer. DAY 6: FRIDAY Lake Constance – Black Forest – Freiburg – Heidelberg (B/ D) Today we enter the Black Forest, a region known not only for its delicious cake and the wooden cuckoo clocks but also for its spectacular landscapes. We will visit a clockmaker and, of course, you will have the possibility to taste the typical cake. enjoy a drive through the beautiful countryside towards the idyllic town of Freiburg. After a city tour we continue to Heidelberg, the oldest German university town where you will see the inner courtyard of the impressive castle, UneSCo World Heritage Site, and the wine cellar with its big barrel. In Ruedesheim we board a steamer for a Rhine river cruise, passing fascinating castles, ruins and the legendary Loreley Rock. Maybe, from the deck of the ship, you will see the blond maid combing her hair. our coach will awaits us in St. Goarshausen to bring us back to Frankfurt where our exciting journey ends with a small panoramic city tour of Germany’s financial capital at approx. 04:00 pm.

DAY 1: SUnDAY Frankfurt – eisenach – Weimar (D) Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive eastward to eisenach, dominated by the Wartburg Castle. Visit one of the most important buildings of German history and see the room where Martin Luther in only eleven weeks translated the new Testament. Three hundred years before, St. elizabeth of Thuringia spent almost all her life at the Wartburg. Afterwards, we continue to a cultural treasure, Weimar, where numerous famous persons like Goethe, Schiller, Liszt and Richard Strauss lived and worked. DAY 2: MonDAY Weimar – Dresden (B) After the breakfast drive to Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony. on a city tour you will get to know one of the loveliest cities of central europe. Due to its mild climate, the baroque architecture and the renowned museums, Dresden is also called ‘Florence of the elbe’. See the Semper opera House, the baroque Zwinger, the Green Vault and, overall, the restored Frauenkirche. nowadays, it is hard to believe that after the bombing in 1945 the city centre was completely destroyed. DAY 6: FRIDAY Hamburg – Bremen – Hamelin (B/ D) After breakfast departure to Bremen, the free hanseatic city at river Weser with an old tradition of seafaring. After a walk through the narrow streets of Schnoor quarter with tiny houses, we turn onto the famous German Fairy Tale Route. In the afternoon we reach Hamelin, a city known for the Pied Piper, another legend appeared in the writings of the Brothers Grimm. Its former wealthy – due to its favourable location as trading centre on the river Weser – was reflected in its lavishly decorated houses. DAY 4: WeDneSDAY Munich – Salzburg – Munich (B) Today enjoy our full day excursion to the native city of the world famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg in Austria. While walking through the old Town you will see its highlights such as Mozart’s birthplace, Getreidegasse and the cathedral. You will have enough time to spend on your own, just strolling around, visiting the lovely Christmas market and, of course, you should not miss the opportunity to taste the famous sweets made in Salzburg, Mozartkugeln. DAY 1: WeDneSDAY/ SUnDAY Frankfurt – eisenach – Weimar – Leipzig (D) Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive eastward to eisenach, dominated by the Wartburg Castle. Visit one of the most important buildings of German history and see the room where Martin Luther in only eleven weeks translated the new Testament. Three hundred years before, St. elizabeth of Thuringia spent almost all her life at the Wartburg. Afterwards, we continue to a cultural treasure, Weimar, where numerous famous persons like Goethe, Schiller, Liszt and Richard Strauss lived and worked. Afterwards we head to our today’s destination, Leipzig, check-in at our hotel and visit one of Germany´s largest Christmas markets. The main attraction is located on the historical market square in front of the ancient town hall, a 25yard Christmas tree with thousands of lights. Stroll along the stalls with handcrafted Christmas gifts from the region. We invite you to an informal but very typical German snack with Bratwurst and the hot spiced wine called Glühwein. overnight at Seaside Hotel o.s.

DAY 3: FRIDAY/ TUeSDAY Dresden – Annaberg – Schneeberg – Plauen (B/ D) Today we are heading mostly along country roads, via Seiffen, a centre of the wooden toy industry, to two ancient miner-villages, Schneeberg and Annaberg. These towns are typical for the erzgebirge (ore Mountains) and actually home of the German tradition of woodcarving and Christmas pyramids. In former times, light – represented by candles – was an important symbol of life and safety for the miners, working in the dark tunnels. The woodcarvers combined their deep religious beliefs and used candles to illuminate the pyramids, decorated with saints and symbols of the holy night. The Christmas market in Annaberg is dating back to 1510. Schneeberg hosts St. Wolfgang’s Church with an altar from 1539, carved by Lucas Cranach the elder. In the afternoon we continue towards Plauen, famous for its handcrafted lace. Plauen was founded in 1122 and since the 16th century has been an important place for cotton manufacturing. our farewell dinner will be served at our hotel. overnight at Hotel Dormero o.s.

DAY 2: THURSDAY/ MonDAY Leipzig – Meissen – Dresden (B) After the breakfast we continue towards Meissen where we will visit one of Germany’s oldest porcelain manufactories. Founded in the 18th century and being continuously in operation since then, the delicate and always handcrafted products are found in royal courts and celebrities homes all around the world. See the exhibition hall and the demonstration workshops where all steps of the painting and glazing process are explained to you. Afterwards, we go on to Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony. on a city tour you will get to know one of the loveliest cities of central europe. Due to its general mild climate, the baroque architecture and the renowned museums, Dresden is also called ‘Florence of the elbe’. See the main sights such as the Semper opera House, the baroque Zwinger and, overall, the restored Frauenkirche. nowadays, it is hard to believe that after the bombing in 1945 the city centre was completely destroyed. After our tour we check-in at our hotel. In the evening we will visit the Christmas market called ‘Striezelmarkt’ – named after the local cake ‘Striezel’. Highlights are the big Christmas pyramid and the numerous stalls where you can taste the Striezel. overnight at Park Inn o.s.

DAY 4: SATURDAY/ WeDneSDAY Plauen – Bamberg – Frankfurt (B) This morning we are travelling through the Franconian forest to the imperial city of Bamberg. Founded in the 9th century, it has a nicely preserved old Town which was declared UneSCo World Heritage Site. We will see the cathedral and the former Benedictine abbey of Michaelsberg before, unfortunately, it is time for the last impressions of German Christmas markets. You will have sufficient time to do some last-minute shopping before we start our journey through the rolling hills of Franconia back to Frankfurt, our final destination which we will reach in the late afternoon.

Afterwards, you will see the Residence, splendid Maximilian- and Leopoldstreet, the opera, the olympic Grounds, Marienplatz with City Hall and its famous ‘Glockenspiel’ (carillon), St. Peter’s Church, the Viktualien-Market and much more. DAY 3: MonDAY Munich – oberammergau – Hohenschwangau – Munich (B/ L) After the breakfast we start heading south, towards oberammergau. The village is internationally famous for its Passion Play – generally performed every ten years – and for its numerous buildings with tromp l'oeil (Lueftlmalerei) painted façades. our next stop is the glorious rococo church in Wies. Continue to Hohenschwangau where we will have a light lunch at Schlosshotel Lisl or Villa Jägerhaus. Afterwards, you will visit neuschwanstein Castle, the breathtaking fairytale castle of King Ludwig II. It was ranked no. 8 when millions of people decided on the ‘new seven world wonders’ and was model for Walt Disney’s Cinderella castle. In the late afternoon we return to our hotel in Munich. DAY 4: TUeSDAY Munich – nuremberg – Regensburg – Munich (B) In the morning we leave Munich to go north, to the city of nuremberg. This Franconian metropolis has a very special flair which you will experience during an orientative city tour. You will see the former ‘Reichsparteitagsgelände’ (Party Rallye Grounds), Court Room 600 where the famous nuremberg trials were held, the beautiful old Town with preserved city wall and gates, the Hauptmarkt, the Imperial Castle (Kaiserburg) and

much more. nuremberg and the Franconian region are also famous for its special grilled sausages, so called ‘nürnberger Rostbratwürste’, which you have to try before you have time on your own to visit the ‘Christkindlesmarkt’ – probably the most famous Christmas market of the world. on the way back to Munich we will make a short stop in the city of Regensburg where at the castle of the aristocratical family of Thurn and Taxis (who invented the modern post delivery system) a unique, little Christmas market awaits you. Return to Munich in the evening. DAY 5: WeDneSDAY Munich – Salzburg – Munich (B) Today we leave Germany going to the native city of the world famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Salzburg in Austria. While walking through the old Town you will see its highlights such as Mozart’s birthplace, Getreidegasse and the cathedral. Should the weather be nice, you will enjoy a ride with a cog railway up to the Fortress Hohensalzburg. From this spot you will have a beautiful view over Salzburg and the surrounding mountain scenery. If the weather conditiones should not allow this activity, we will visit the inside of the Mozarthaus. You will have enough time to spend on your own, just strolling around, visiting the lovely Christmas market and, of course, you should not miss the opportunity to taste the famous sweets made in Salzburg, Mozartkugeln. In the late afternoon we return to Munich. DAY 6: THURSDAY

Munich – Rothenburg ob der Tauber – Augsburg – Munich (B/D)

After breakfast we will take you to another highlight of this tour, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well-preserved ‘Jewel of the Middle Ages’. Afterwards, enjoy the charming Christmas market! DAY 1: Frankfurt After your arrival at Frankfurt Airport your personal driver-guide will welcome you and take you to your hotel in a private limousine (or minivan). During the transfer the guide will already give you some first information about the next days and ask for personal wishes. In the late afternoon you will meet again to start with a small city tour of Frankfurt, formerly coronation city of the German emperors, nowadays the modern european banking center and Germany’s financial capital. At a charming place, enjoy your welcome drink – a local speciality. overnight at Le Méridien Parkhotel or similar DAY 2: Frankfurt – Goslar (B/ D) Drive with lunch-stop on the highway to the beautiful historical city of Goslar. After the check-in at the hotel experience a city walk through the old Town, UneSCo World Heritage Site. The former Free Imperial Town of Goslar has an over-1000-year history. The spires of the 47 churches, chapels and monasteries delineated the unique silhouette. It was referred to as the ‘Rome of the north’. The many crooked, narrow, cobble-stoned streets in the old Town are an adventure of their own where each house tells its own story and secret nooks and crannies await discovery. Reservations have to be made in writing and are subject to availability. After a reservation has been made Touring Tours & Travel will provide a confirmation that will as well be sent in writing. If the requested service is not available, Touring Tours & Travel will undertake all efforts to provide a suitable alternative. The client has between 7-21 days to meet the deposit requirements. Failure to meet the deposit requirements can result in release of the reservation space. Reconfirming of space released is subject to new check of availability.

City Breaks: If cancellation in writing is received by the Touring Tours & Travel up to 15 days prior to departure, all funds paid will be refunded in full, less an administrative charge of eURo 30.- per booking. Additional cancellation charges are to

expected to continue the travel or if a passenger refuses to follow objective advises resp. orders of the bus crew. In this case, the operator has the right to demand the whole fare unless the disturbing passenger’s seat can be allocated to another person so that an economic disadvantage does not occur.

PASSPoRTS AnD VISA Before concluding the travel contract, the travel agent points the passenger to current passport and visa requirements. each passenger is responsible on his own for obtaining the papers and documents needed for the destinations that will be visited. In case of difficulties caused by flouting terms of visa, the passenger has no right to withdraw from the travel contract; the cancellation terms mentioned above are to apply.

InSURAnCe IS ReCoMMenDeD The operator is not responsible or liable for loss, damage or theft of luggage and/or personal belongings, or for personal injury, accident, and/or illness. Please check with your Travel Agent or Insurance Agent for additional insurance to cover all risks concerned for the duration of your trip. LIMITATIonS oF LIABILITY Touring Tours & Travel ’s (operator for all bookings out of this brochure) contractual liability for damages which are not bodily harms is limited by three times the amount of the travelling fare if the damages are not caused with intent or by committing an act of culpable negligence or if the operator is obliged to compensate a damage with respect to the passengers only because of an administering body’s fault. The legal liability according to § 23 PBefG amounts to eURo 1,000.- at most for damages to the passenger’s property which are not caused with intend or by committing an act of culpable negligence. TeRMInATIon FoR ReASonS oF FoRCe MAJeURe In case of relevant impediments, endangerings or impairments caused by unforeseeable circumstances as war impacts, political or social unrest, epidemics, administrative or judicial orders (e.g. prohibition of crossing the border), natural disasters, destroying of accommodations or similar occurrences both parties are entitled to terminate the contract in compliance with these contractual terms. After a passenger’s termination the operator can demand reimbursement for services that have already been performed according to § 471 of the German BGB. Deviations from the services stipulated in the contract Changes concerning the services booked by the passenger that become necessary after the conclusion of the contract and are not contrary to good faith can be performed by the operator if the travel’s general shape is not reduced considerably; the passenger must be informed by the operator immediately after having got positive knowledge of the admissible deviations. Facing a change of an essential feature of the booked travel, the passenger is entitled to cancel the contract.
