Thank you for showing me what loving and living like Christ means. Thank you for letting me be a real person and not just a role. Thank you for letting me laugh and cry, celebrate and grieve with you.

One of my foundational scriptures is Revelation 21:5. “See I am making all things new.” The verb is “present tense”. God is always creating and re-creating. God is always making all things new. We live remembering and giving thanks for what God has done. We live in faith anticipating what God will yet do. We have nothing to fear. I’m pleased that your new pastor is Rev. William deBos. William and I have been friends and colleagues for many years. He brings energy, enthusiasm, new ideas, generous commitment and deep faith. He will lead you well. You will have a good ministry together. We still have a month together. I’m working to finish some projects and ministry programs. I’m still available for anything you might need. Mostly I’m going to celebrate and cherish the time. I hope you will also. Dag Hammarskjold says it for me: For all that has been—Thanks! To all that will be—Yes! To which I say—Amen!
