Stroke  Managers-  Time  is  Brain   Presented  by  Taylor  Esdale,  Deborah  Camp,  Lisa  Jackson,  Stroke  Managers.   Piedmont  Healthcare   Stroke  managers  will  be  reviewing  the  prevalence  of  strokes  in  the  United  States  and   the  major  stroke  syndromes.    We  will  also  be  covering  how  to  recognize  a  stroke  and   the  pattern  of  symptoms  for  either  ischemic  or  hemorrhagic  strokes.    Once  someone   can  recognize  a  stroke,  getting  them  to  a  treatment  facility  that  can  administer  tPA  is   very  important.    tPA  reduces  disability  for  a  stroke  patient  and  that  is  great  because   stroke  is  the  number  one  cause  for  disability.    Lastly,  we  will  be  going  over  risk  factors   and  emphasizing  the  importance  of  taking  action  with  the  modifiable  factors.
