June 20, 2016
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2016 IPSF Summer Enrichment Academy at Stonegate Elementary. Our hope is that your child will find our summer program enriching, engaging, and fun! Please read through the following important informational items, schedules, and parking lot procedures.
This year, the IPSF Summer Enrichment Program at Stonegate is comprised of two separate threeweek sessions. Session A runs from Monday, June 20th through Friday, July 8th ( No School on Monday, July 4th ). Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your child. Students not picked up within ten minutes of dismissal, will be escorted to the office. Excessive late pickups may result in a dismissal from the IPSF SEA program. The blacktop and play structure are not available for playtime before school.
Session A Schedule ● The AM session is from 8:1511:45am (15 minute Recess Break included). Students may not arrive prior to 8:00am. Students are to line up outside their teacher’s classroom (maps included below). ● The PM session is from 12:304:00pm (15 minute Recess Break included). Students may not arrive prior to 12:15pm and should line up at the designated cones (according to classroom signs) by the lunch tables. PM students need to be picked up by 4:15pm. ● All Day Program : Students that are joining us for both the AM and PM sessions will also have a lunch break from 11:4512:30pm (15 minute Recess Break included). Student Safety ● Please consider peanutfree options for lunches and remind your child not to share their snacks or lunch, as we have many students with food allergies. ● Parents and nonstaff adults will NOT be allowed on campus during class sessions and NO parents are permitted to volunteer in class at anytime or eat lunch with students from 11:4512:30pm. ● All Day students will be given identification to wear visibly, so that Stonegate staff can make sure they make the transition safely from their AM class to lunch and then to their PM class.
● Please do not send sports equipment or electronic entertainment devices to school with your children. Cell phones should be turned off once on campus and stored in their backpack. The school will provide sports equipment for Recess playtime. ● Dogs are NOT allowed on campus as anytime. ● The summer session is an educational setting, so all school rules apply. Misconduct may be documented and communicated to parents through a behavior citation form. Disruptive behavior and repeated misconduct may result in a dismissal from the program without a refund.
Student Expectations Our students are to be prepared for the school day. We ask for the support of each parent in observing these expectations.
We will maintain a dress code for safety and support of school instruction: ● Students should wear closed toed shoes at all times. ● Clothing with offensive messages or revealing clothing are not permitted. We will maintain a behavior code as follows: ● Students will demonstrate behavior that is safe for themselves and others. ● Students will show courtesy and respect for other people. ● Students will show respect for school property and the property of others. ● Students will stay only in supervised areas at all times.
Absences/Illness ● Please call (949) 9366452 to notify the school clerk that your child will be absent from school. ● Any student exhibiting signs of illness should not be at school. Students should be feverfree for 24 hours before attending/returning to school.
Pickup/Dropoff and Parking Lot Procedures Stonegate will be hosting a large number of students this summer. The parking lot will be busy, so please use the map included below as a guideline for efficient traffic flow. ● Loading Zone Route: Please follow proper traffic flow at all times. Pull forward as far as possible in the loading zone and be sure that your child(ren) exit the vehicle from the passenger side (right side) only. Students should have their backpacks close at hand and be ready to exit the vehicle once it has stopped. ● Escorting Students onto Campus: If you would like to walk your child to their classroom, please park in the main parking lot on Honors or along the designated curbside along Honors . Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the loading zone or dropoff/pickup lanes. ● Kindergarten Dropoff/Pickup: Please park along the designated curbside on Majesty. All Kindergarten students are to be escorted to their classroom lines. A designated adult should remain with each student until the classroom teacher comes out to the the Kindergarten
lineup area. Each Kindergarten class has a designated area for dismissal at the end of the day. Please check with your child’s teacher for specific dismissal instructions. We are looking forward to a great summer school experience! If you have any questions or need assistance during our program, please call the Stonegate school office at (949) 9366452. Sincerely, Mandy Ferrell Gina Favaro Rose Forster Session A Administrator Office Clerk Office Clerk (91pm)
