STREET ART

From the 1st Nov to 13th Nov 2016 About St+ Art The St+Art India foundation is a non-profit organization that works on art projects in public spaces. The aim of the foundation is to make art accesible to a wider audience by taking it out of the conventional gallery space and embedding it within the cities we live in - making art truly democratic and for everyone. Across the past 3 years, the foundation has organised 4 St+art festivals in Delhi and Mumbai, creating iconic landmarks within these cities.

About St+art HYD 2016 St+art India is keen to broaden its area of interventions to other significant cities in India such as Hyderabad to further expand the reach of Public Art. Hyderabad – a historic city with a long heritage which is also the capital of the new state of Telangana is currently building a new identity which can further be shaped by adding public contemporary art assets. St+art Hyderabad foresees 4 main projects: the re-generation of the Makhta boundary walls, the "I love HYD" typo sculpture, the art hoardings projects and the participative wall by 10 Telangana's artists. St+art is going to work on the Necklace Road area aiming to transform a particular portion of this key stretch in an art corridor, regenerating the area facing the lake and make it as an area of interest in the city for contemporary art and culture. The French artists invited to the festival, Remed, Jean-Luc Feugeas and Alber will contribute with their site-specific art interventions to the regeneration of Makhta neighborhood.

About the film English title: Where do we go now? Director Nadine Labaki First release : 2011 Duration : 110min Genre : Comedy, Drama Casting : Nadine Labaki, Yvonne Maalouf, Claude Baz Moussawba Language : French with English subtitles

Synopsis

On the way which leads to the cemetery of the village, a women's procession in black, faces the heat of the sun, tightening against them the photos of her spouses, their fathers or their sons. Some wear the veil, others a cross, but all share the same mourning, the consequence of a disastrous and useless war. Arriving at the entrance of the cemetery, the procession parts in two: the one Muslim, the other Christian. With the backdrop of a country torn by the war, Where do we go now? speaks about the determination of women of any religion, to protect their family and their village from outside threat. Showing ingenuity, inventing funny stratagems, united by an indestructible friendship, these women have only one objective: distract the attention of the men and lead them to forget their anger and their difference. But when the events take a tragic turn, how far will these women go to save the men who are left?

Accolades The film received positive reviews, from both critics and audience. The film won two prices at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival with a special mention of the jury.
