FIRST READING RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Isaiah 45:1, 4-6 R. Rice

Psalm 96:1, 3, 4-5, 7-8, 9-10

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, (All bow while saying:) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

My soul hath a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: My heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: They will be alway praising thee. The glorious majesty of the Lord our God be upon us: prosper thou the work of our hands upon us. O prosper thou our handiwork, O prosper thou our handiwork. O God, our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast, and our eternal home. Cf. Ps 84; 90

PRAYER BEFORE AN ELECTION

URGENT REPAIR APPEAL: UPDATE  The signage for Holy Family Academy is back up on the front façade.

Lord God, as the election approaches, we seek to better understand the issues and concerns that confront our city, state and country, and how the Gospel compels us to respond as faithful citizens in our community. We ask for eyes that are free from blindness so that we might see each other as brothers and sisters, one and equal in dignity, especially those who are victims of abuse and violence, deceit and poverty. We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children unborn and those abandoned, and men and women oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender.

 The balconies on the church and school are complete and ready for winter.  All the tuck pointing and roof repairs are finished on the church and school.

We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to your Kingdom. We pray for discernment so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word, live your love, and keep in the ways of your truth as they follow in the steps of Jesus and his Apostles and guide us to your Kingdom of justice and peace.

 Last but not least, the boiler for the church and school has been turned on!

We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Our Lord's house is in great shape for many Minnesota winters to come!

All are welcome!
