NEWSLETTER

Campus Security/Access  The Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department will be on campus providing security during the entire week of Homecoming. 

All school sponsored events will finish before 10:00 p.m. Students will not be allowed on campus after 10:00 p.m. from Monday, October 3 to Thursday, October 6. Students on or near campus buildings will be questioned by Ashwaubenon Public Safety and may be prosecuted.

Homecoming Expectations/Beliefs  Learning will remain the main focus of the week. 

Positive decision making must be the order of the week during Homecoming. Have as much fun as possible, but stay within the limits.

Homecoming must be a positive experience for all people. All students and athletic teams will be represented in the planned activities. It will be a celebration which represents all fall activities and participants.

Everyone's rights will be respected at all times. Ashwaubenon High School will not promote activities where people are subjected to acts of vandalism.

Homecoming is a privilege, not a right. Positive decision making by students will ensure that it remains an AHS fall tradition. Poor decision making will jeopardize this privilege.

General Facts  All sanctioned Homecoming activities are held on the AHS campus. These are the only approved activities. AHS does not sanction decorating efforts throughout the Village of Ashwaubenon. Toilet papering private homes and village property are not part of the approved Homecoming plans. 

The Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department is an active partner in planning Homecoming. They also have the same goal of having a great set of activities while remaining safe and respectful.

Homecoming Dance The Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 7:30-11:30 p.m. in the Ashwaubenon High School auxiliary gymnasium. The dance is semi-formal in nature. Appropriate dress includes dress slacks, dress shirts and ties for males, with equivalent dress for females. T-shirts, blue jeans, tank tops and shorts are not considered appropriate attire. September, 2016 Ashwaubenon Students, Parents and Faculty, The Ashwaubenon Department of Public Safety and the Ashwaubenon School District are challenging students to have a safe and trouble free Homecoming week. We hold all Ashwaubenon students to a high standard of conduct. When participating in Homecoming week activities we expect and encourage these activities to be safe and legal. Ashwaubenon Public Safety has adopted a Zero-Tolerance Policy during Homecoming. Anyone caught in violation of Village ordinances or State laws during Homecoming week will be cited or arrested. Public Safety will be aggressively enforcing Loitering, Trespassing, Criminal Damage to Property, Alcohol, Curfew and GDL traffic violations. Zero-Tolerance is led by example and includes all students, parents and faculty. Let’s set the example together of good, clean fun so others can see just how great Ashwaubenon is. AHS Fall Musical - ONCE UPON A MATTRESS! We are so excited that our Fall Musical will be held in our new Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center! The musical this year in November will be the production of the show, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. This Broadway musical is a comedy about the “true” story of the Princess and the Pea. The show on Broadway originally featured comedian Carol Burnett as the Princess Winnifred. A more recent DISNEY movie version features Zooey Deschanel, Matthew Morrison from GLEE, Tracey Ullman, and Tom Smothers as the King and Carol Burnett once again, but this time as the colorful Queen Aggravain. ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is a hilarious show that the whole family will enjoy! The show opens Thanksgiving weekend and tickets will be on sale November 1 via TicketStar. If you have questions about the musical or stage crew, please contact the directors, Mr. Bernie Rocheleau at [email protected] or Mrs. Helen Marcks at [email protected].

Grand Central Station Scrip Cards—an Easy and Useful Fundraiser! Dear Ashwaubenon Families and Friends: Our fundraising efforts with Grand Central Station scrip cards is well underway. $180,000 worth of cards have been sold since June 2015, earning $18,000 for our programs! We’re excited to be working with Grand Central Station, who has been a contributing partner to the Ashwaubenon School District for the past 20 years, contributing more than $100,000 to support our students—the support they have given towards our school’s athletic programs and co-curricular activities is second to none! Titletown Oil Corp., the parent company of Grand Central Station, is located right here in Ashwaubenon. The owner is an Ashwaubenon graduate who desires to help provide AHS students with the best experience possible during their years at Ashwaubenon. With their scrip card program, our school will receive 10 percent back from each card that is purchased. These cards can be used for gas, convenience store goods, and even car washes. AHS parent, Jen Conrad, continues to coordinate the scrip card sales program for us (Thank you Jen!!) Most importantly, you can still delegate your money towards the program of your choosing, so this will continue to help your program of choice be successful! Scrip Card Ordering Procedure:  Purchasers will place their orders via email to Jen Conrad, [email protected]  Mondays at 12:00pm, Jen Conrad will submit the total weekly AHS order to Grand Central Station. Scrip cards will be delivered to Jen on Wednesdays of the same week.  Purchasers will be notified of the designated location/times they may pick up their cards that week (either Wed., Thursday, or Friday).  There will be a limited supply of scrip cards available for walk-up purchases. Again, I’d like to thank Titletown Oil for their support of Ashwaubenon schools. We’ll do our best to return the support that they give our students! I’d also like to thank all of YOU who support your teams and clubs in the best possible ways! Continue to do so, as this support helps to enrich the lives of our students and to build lasting memories for your and our kids! As always, Go Jags! Sincerely, Nick Senger, Activities Director www.ashwaubenon.k12.wi.us

PLEASE, Keep your Email Address(es) Up-to-Date! Email addresses that parents enter and maintain in PowerSchool are also used by SchoolMessenger, our emergency notification system, and for many other communications, including reports of snow days. Our use of email to communicate with parents continues to expand, so we ask that you please enter at least one email address for each of your children in PowerSchool. Parents have the ability and the responsibility to update their email address(es) when they change. Sign in to PowerSchool as a parent Once signed in, if you linked multiple students to your account, you’ll be able to switch between them by clicking on their name button. Email Notification (per Child) For each child you’ve added to your account, click Email Notification from the list of Navigation icons in the left margin. Here you can set what information PowerSchool sends you via email, and how often. Enter at least one email address for each of your children in the ‘Email Addresses To Receive School/District Communications’ field. The ‘Parent Account Email Address’ is the address you’ll need to recover your Username or Password in case you lose either of those. NOTE: The ‘Email Addresses To Receive School/District Communications’ are the addresses used to communicate to parents. So, enter AT LEAST ONE email address here. You should typically enter the Parent Account Email Address (above) here in addition to any other email accounts (home, work, spouse). Separate multiple emails with a comma (,). The addresses entered here are specific to each student so you should replicate this field for each child listed under your Parent account. Since the ‘Email Addresses To Receive School/District Communications’ field is attached to a student, that field is shared by anyone who has that student on their account. So in split family situations, we ask you to please respect each other’s desire to receive student and school/district communications.
