THINK FORWARD

O2 - Drawing Wizard use at Agility Group, Jon Stokstad, Agility Group A year has passed since Agility Group introduced Drawing Wizard. Compared to conventional methods, our composed drawing production has improved significantly both in regard to quality and efficiency. The solution provides users with systemized flexibility - for example object type selection and discipline specific options without the need for an administrator to change ViewStyles. This presentation will demonstrate actual drawing creation and how Drawing Wizard helps in the actual design proses. Recent developments have introduced features for document search and management including piping isometrics. Associated drawings can be located and opened by a simple mouse click on the specific 3D object. Also, 3D objects associated with drawing views can be located and loaded without opening the drawing. An unintended spin-off of the development of this tool is the ability to list and manage affected documents upon 3D model changes. From the user’s point of view Drawing Wizard has improved and simplified the entire drawing workflow. From the project manager’s point of view Drawing Wizard saves both time and money. From the administrator’s point of view Drawing Wizard has put CAD into Smart3D drawings. O3 - Capturing as-built data with CADWorx, Paul Martin, Intergraph Plant owners are increasingly being driven by market demands to extend production from their existing facilities beyond the original design lifespan, which inevitably results in more and more projects – such as revamps, turnarounds and extensions - being executed in brownfield facilities. One of the first tasks to be completed before engineering design can start for these types of projects is the creation of a true-as built model of the existing facility. Depending on the size of the project and tools available, capturing the as-built situation is usually either a manually intensive, time consuming and error prone process, where simple measuring devices are used to make measurements so that hand-drawn piping isometrics and basic GAs can be produced, which subsequently might be used to create an as-built 3D model, or, at the other extreme, laser scanning is employed, which although highly accurate and efficient, requires a high initial investment. Collaboration and technology transfer between Hexagon’s Intergraph and Leica companies has resulted in a state-of-the-art solution being created that makes the capture of as-built information quick, easy and cost-effective. CADWorx fieldPipe closes the gap between capturing the as-built by manual methods or by laser scanning, and is the only plant design software package in the world that enables as-built plant models to be built from both laser scan data or using laser surveying methods, providing a scalable solution suitable for any size of project. During this presentation we will give you an overview CADWorx fieldPipe, and explain the business benefits it offers. We will also show you how intelligent pipes can be modelled quickly and easily from point cloud data. O4 - SmartPlant 3D and Laser Scanning, Per Paag, Leica Geosystems Denmark Leica Geosystems is one the world’s largest supplier of geospatial technology products, delivering trusted solutions supporting front-end design, ongoing construction, and full asset management support. This session will explore the various types of customer deployment of geospatial technology products and demonstrates, through case studies, the benefits of using such advanced capabilities to support and validate planning, design, engineering, construction, and management activities with a strong emphasis on the latest in 3D scanning integration. P1 - Owner Operator solution update – including the evolution of unstructured content, Adrian Park and Sascha Antvogel, Intergraph The last 12 months have seen the scope of our existing solutions for owner operators further increased and the development and launch of important new solutions. In this update we will be presenting the new SPO Completions solution covering the whole life-

ABSTRACT cycle of completions activities through pre-mechanical completions, mechanical completions, commissioning, preservation and pre-start-up safety checks. We will also be introducing a Requirements Management & Tracking solution tracing legislative, regulatory authority, corporate and user requirements and how these are satisfied on your plant. An exciting new mobile solution to support plant floor and other field workers with access data and documentation in new ways and capture information directly on-site will be presented. We will also introduce you to SmartPlant Fusion to manage unstructured content. SmartPlant Fusion utilizes SmartPlant Foundation’s well-known structured information handling capabilities to load and visualize unstructured information, ranging from scanned images, PDF files, vendor documents, through to native CAD files and semi-intelligent engineering lists via quick view web-based portals. We will showcase the capture of brownfield data through processing of legacy documentation and laser scanning and how can be used to enable improved access to plant data and as a basis for implementation of more advanced solutions. P2 - SmartPlant Foundation Update – Speeding the Time to Information Value, Sascha Antvogel, Intergraph This session will introduce the new enhancements which are available with the new SmartPlant Foundation 2009 R4 release. Increased performance, enhanced useability, and simpler deployment. These three key values have been the mantra for the latest development cycle of the information management products. This session will discuss the benefits of the new features, including the performance improvements including multi-CPU performance to scale our solutions to the largest user communities, improvements to streamline integration between enterprise products. The presentation will also give you an overview of our key strategic initiatives, such as SmartPlant Enterprise Control Panel, SmartPlant Fusion, SmartPlant VTL (Validation, Transformation, and Loading). P3 - Customer case - TBA P4 - SmartPlant Materials, Fabrication and Construction, Chris Why and Paul Martin, Intergraph SmartPlant Materials is the market leading solution for project material management on major capex projects.
