The Events

KBYC is hosting two premier youth sailing events in 2016.

Sunshine State Championship, March 2016

In March 2016, the Key Biscayne Yacht Club will host the USODA Sunshine State Championship. The top 25% of the fleet will qualify for USA Team Trials. Approximately 250 youth sailors from around the country will participate in this event.

47th Annual Southeast Dinghy Championship, Fall 2016

Since 1969, Key Biscayne Yacht Club has hosted the Annual Southeast Dinghy Championship. Created as one of the first US National championships in optimist class, the event has hosted over 4,000 sailors and their families from across the nation and further afield. Sailors ranging from 7 to 18 years of age compete in Club 420s, Lasers and Optimist Dinghies. For the 47th event in Fall 2016, 200 participants are expected.
