A. Introduction: Whether you use the Pocket Jump Starter for jump starting your vehicle, ATV, Motorcycle, or boat; you can be sure the Pocket Jump Starter will be ready to go wherever and whenever you need it.

General Safety Information: Do not expose the pocket jump starter to rain, moisture or any liquid. Exposure to liquid or moisture may cause the pocket jump starter to fail and increase the risk of electrical shock or fire. Do not use this pocket jump starter if it should become wet. Make sure this pocket jump starter is insulated from water if you have to use it in the rain or snow. Do not expose the pocket jump starter to open flame, such as candles, camp fire, etc. Under no circumstances should the users make any change or modification to the product or its accessories. Any changes made may compromise safety, affect the performance of the product and void the warranty. In case the battery begins to leak, do not allow your body parts to come in contact with the liquid. If contact has been made, please wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Do not expose the product to excessive heat, such as inside a car under direct sunlight where temperature may exceed 140°F (60°C) degrees. Battery under extreme heat may generate more heat, rupture, or ignite. Storing the pocket jump starter under such condition may result in degradation of performance and shorter battery life. The pocket jump starter contains lithium batteries, please dispose the pocket jump starter properly, following local regulations. Do not incinerate. 2

Caution: Make sure that you plug in the jump starter socket fully before trying to jump start the vehicle. If not, there is a chance that you cannot jump start your vehicle and melt the connection in the plug at the same time Before jump starting your vehicle, make sure the battery clamps are securely connected, clean the battery terminal if it appears to be corroded, or dirty. Do not attempt to jump start the vehicle after 3 unsuccessful tries, otherwise, you may damage the pocket jump starter. You may need to look into other causes that prevent the engine from starting up. (Engine cranks over, but does not fire) Please disconnect the battery clamp after the vehicle has been started, if you leave the battery clamp connected for more than 30 seconds, you may cause damage to the jump starter. Do not connect the 2 clamps directly with each other during override mode, you will short the circuit and cause damage to the jump starter and personal injuries. 3

When the smart battery clamp beeps, please disconnect it from the battery.

Always exercise care when you are using this jump starter. This pocket jump starter is not intended for use by children. Do not use this pocket jump starter in an explosive environment, such as in the presence of flammable liquid, gases or combustible dust. Do not modify or disassemble this pocket jump starter, only a certified tech may perform repair on this device. Do not expose this pocket jump starter to extreme temperatures, or under prolong sun exposure. Operating temperature for this device is -20°C ~ 60°C or -4°F ~ 140°F, also only charge this pocket jump starter within the above prescribed ambient temperature. Recharge this pocket jump starter with the AC charger included in this kit to avoid damage to the electronic components. Under extreme conditions, battery leakage may occur, carefully wipe the liquid off of the device and avoid skin contact, in case of skin or eye contact, rinse with water immediately and seek medical attention.

B. OPERATION GUIDANCE Battery Indicator Press the switch to check the battery level. The number shown indicates the remaining battery capacity.

Recharging the pocket jump starter: Using the 110V wall outlet:

1. Plug in the charger included into the wall outlet. 2. Connect the charger to the charging port on the pocket jump starter.

Using the 12V car charger:

1. Plug in the 12V charger adapter to the vehicle’s 12V socket 2. Connect the charger to the charging port on the pocket jump starter. 6

For jump starting a vehicle with 12 volt battery system: Note 1: This jump starter will start gasoline engines in passenger vehicles, pickup trucks, and diesel engine vehicles with less than 3.0 liter displacements. 1 Check the battery level before jump starting the vehicle. It is recommended to recharge the battery before jump starting a vehicle if the battery level is below 50%. 2 Connect the red battery clamp of the jumper cable to the vehicle’s positive (+) terminal and connect the black battery clamp of the jumper cable to the vehicle’s negative (-) terminal.

b.) If a car battery is not present or completely dead (disconnect the dead battery before jump start), you can activate the override by pressing and hold the "override" button for 4 seconds, then you have 30 seconds to start the engine.

3 a.) Plug in the Smart battery clamp to the jump starter socket. Press and hold the power button on the controller until the blue indicator comes on. Then start your engine.

5 When the engine starts, disconnect the jumper cable from the pocket jump starter and battery terminals within 30 seconds.

6 Leave the engine running. Note 2: If the voltage is too low on the car battery, you may need to disconnect the cables from your car battery. Then connect the car’s power cable directly with the jumper cable, and start the engine. Once the engine is running, carefully place the power cables back onto the car battery.

For charging smartphones or portable devices: 1. Plug in your own USB cable or use the 4 in 1 USB cable provided with this kit to the USB 5V 2A output port. 2. The pocket jump starter will autodetect and start charging the phone or tablet when it is connected. Note 3: Depending your mobile device, you may not need the maximum output of 5V Your own device will determine the maximum output needed to recharge.

C. Lithium Battery Caring Tips This product uses a lithium polymer battery. We recommend that the battery is fully charged and discharged during first three uses to ensure the battery is in it’s best performance. When charging is complete, unplug the wall charger and disconnect the charger. Please do not place the jump starter in extreme environments. The jump starter performs best when operating at room temperature, 70° F (20° C).

D. FAQ: How to turn off this pocket jump starter? This device will power off automatically when no load is detected or when charging is complete. How many times can this device charge my cell phone? You can fully recharge your smartphone from 0% up to 3 times, depending on your phone’s battery capacity. How long will it take this pocket jump starter to fully charge my cell phone? Approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your phone’s battery capacity. How many times can this device on a full charge start my vehicle? Approximately 20 times. How long will the battery charge remain before recharging? 6-12 months, however, we suggest that you recharge this pocket jump starter every 6 months. 12

E. Troubleshooting Problem

Solution

No response when pressing the switch button.

The low voltage protection of the pocket jump starter is activated. Plug the adapter into the charging port to recharge.

Connect to car battery, still no power.

The terminals may be corroded, clean the corroded terminals and try again. Reposition the jumper cable clamps

Battery seems to not hold the charge, battery indicator does not light up after you press the switch.

F. Limited One (1) Year Warranty Jackco Transnational Inc. warrants “ZETA by JACKCO” branded products to the original purchaser against any manufacturing defect in material or worksmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase. If the defective product is determined to be covered under this warranty, it shall be repaired or replaced at manufacturer’s discretion without charge. Provided that the product must be returned with proof of purchase and freight prepaid when returned to the manufacturer. This warranty shall not apply to damage due to accident, negligent use, lack of maintenance, abuse or applications other than the specific function the product is designed for. No other warranties, expressed or implied, including those of merchantability or fitness for particular purpose shall be applicable to Jackco except as specifically stated herein.
