DISCUSS HOW THE CHARACTER OF GRANDMA WOLF IS PRESENTED Point Quickly answers the question Technique A technique used in the quote to create a specific effect.
Link Re-states the point
The character Grandma Wolf is a very controlling and intimidating character. “Grandma would be there, at the door of what seemed to us to be her lair.” This de-humanises Grandma Wolf. The word “lair” tells us that Charlie and Tommo portray her as a villain or a wild animal in her lair. The fact that Grandma Wolf waits for Charlie and Tommo at the door every day implies that Charlie and Tommo are scared of going into their own home. This helps the reader feel sympathy for Charlie and Tommo as they cannot even be comfortable in their own home. This sympathy re-affirms that Grandma Wolf is a very controlling and intimidating character.
Evidence Quote from the text and that supports your point.
Analysis How does the quote prove the point?
