JOHN 1:43-51 (NIV) “The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’ ‘Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?’ Nathanael asked. ‘Come and see,’ said Philip. When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, ‘Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.’ ‘How do you know me?’ Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, ‘I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.’ Then Nathanael declared, ‘Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.’ Jesus said, ‘You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.’ He then added, ‘Very truly I tell you, you will see “heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on” the Son of Man.’”

SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS FOR 2018 Beginning TODAY, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Chronic Illness and Caregiver’s Support Groups are both meeting on the second Sunday of each month (January-May; September-November). The Chronic Illness Support Group will meet in the Fireside Room North, while the Caregiver’s Support Group will meet in Classroom 3. The Chronic Illness Peer Support Group is limited to individuals suffering from a chronic illness and the Caregiver Support Group is limited to individuals who are serving as a caregiver. Please take note of the descriptions below so that you know which group to attend and where the group is meeting. Chronic Illness Peer Support Group – Fireside Room North A chronic illness can be anything from cancer, diabetes, heart disease, fibromyalgia, arthritis, lupus, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Crohn’s disease, reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), or complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). It could also be a condition such as chronic migraines or back pain from a car accident. If it affects you for more than a few months, it is often considered chronic. Kathy Bilak (Physician Assistant specializing in Radiation Oncology) and Richard Wilharm hope to provide an opportunity and the space for people living with a long-term illness to get together and share stories and experiences, while giving each other empathetic, emotional, and practical help. Caregiver Support Group – Classroom 3 Caring for a loved one, though rewarding, can also be very challenging. In many cases, the family is the primary source of support for an individual who is no longer able to care for him/herself alone. The responsibility is often very demanding of time, energy, health, and resources. Pastor Lynne hopes to teach and encourage self-care, as well as provide a forum of support and understanding from others facing similar situations.
