For four decades now, corporate social responsibility (CSR) continues to augment Sunway’s business model, operating strategies and corporate culture as we actively engage our stakeholders and the communities we serve. 1. Corporate Social Responsibility CSR – C.A.R.E. Projects Stop Hunger Program 2015 – packing dehydrated meals for underprivileged communities. Effort from Sunway staffs from all regions across Malaysia. Central More than 150 Sunway Group employees in Ipoh recently came together to pack some 25,000 meals for the underprivileged communities in the region. The beneficiaries of the packed meals in Ipoh are the villagers of Kampung Sekam, Tapah; Kampung Chang, Bidor; Kampung Air Bah Lawin, Grik; and Kampung Sungai Lawin Selatan, Grik. The 25,000 meals will be distributed via the Sahabat Orang Asli project. Sunway has packed a total of 120,000 meals across Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur with the help of some 450 Sunway volunteers including students this year. This "meal packaging programme" was carried out under Sunway Group's collaborative effort with Stop Hunger Now organisation to combat hunger, and is one of Sunway's biggest volunteer efforts to help the underprivileged and impoverished communities. Penang Some 100 Sunway employees gathered at Sunway Hotel Georgetown, Penang to pack 25,000 meals for the earthquake and mud flood victims in Ranau, Sabah. Projects Raya Cheer 2015 – festive celebration with underprivileged kids Some 150 Sunway employees brought together 140 children and young adults aged five to 17 from Pusat Jagaan Kanakkanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah, Rumah Titian Kaseh and Madrasah Hashimiah for an early Raya celebration, through a series of fun shopping expedition at Sunway Pyramid, interactive workshops and a sumptuous Buka Puasa meal at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa.

Sunway Group hosted some 100 underprivileged children from four charity homes at a fun Deepavali gathering at Sunway Hotel Georgetown. The children from the YWCA Children’s Care Centre, Seri Cahaya Welfare Home, St Joseph's Home and Ramakrishna Orphanage enjoyed the antics of a clown and watched dancers from the Naveenah Arts group performing the traditional ‘Barathanatyam’ dance. All children, much to their surprise and elation, were each given a goodie bag sponsored by Sunway.

Projects CNY Cheer 2015 – 100 Sunway volunteers from the northern and central regions worked together Sunway Group hosted a Chinese New Year celebration for the community of Kampung Pajak Potong in Kuala Kangsar. This initiative, saw 100 Sunway volunteers from the northern and central regions bringing essential goods to some 35 families affected by the recent floods. Sunway Medical Centre also committed a team of medical staff and nurses to provide free health screenings for the community. On behalf of Sunway Group, Sunway City Ipoh senior general manager Mr Wong Wan Wooi presented a rescue boat to Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament YB Datuk Wan Khairil Anuar bin Wan Ahmad. The rescue boat was handed over to the Kuala Kangsar District Civil Defense Department for any humanitarian assistance involving water search and rescue missions.
