Kindness Is Doing Something Special for Kids, Inc.
The CBCC is a volunteer organization started by Marv Samuel then overseen by Billy Pierce. It is comprised of former and current professional athletes, members of the Chicago sports media and the corporate community. Since its inception in 1970, the Charities has raised over $16 million for cancer patient care, education and research programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago along with support to Camp One Step, Children’s Oncology Services. chicagocancercharities.com.
K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, Inc (Kindness is Doing Something Special for Kids) is an all-volunteer, non-profit fundraising auxiliary of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Founded in 1991, K.I.D.S.S. for Kids fundraising activities benefit the Hospital’s Family Services programs, which focus on the emotional well being of the patients and their families. These programs range from therapeutic play, socialization and specialized education to the emotional and spiritual healing provided by Heartlight, one of the nation’s premier family bereavement programs. Without the philanthropic support of K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, the continuity of these programs would be in jeopardy. kidssforkids.org.
