Der Frankfurter Musikpreis 2016 ging an den Jazz-, Pop und Rhythm-and Blues-Musiker aL JaRReaU. Der Frankfurter Musikpreis würdigt das Lebenswerk des Künstlers als stilbildender Vokalist. In seiner Begründung hebt das Kuratorium besonders Al Jarreaus herausragende interpretatorische und improvisatorische Fähigkeiten hervor, mit der er die Gesangsstimme auf eine bis dahin nicht bekannte solistische Höhe geführt hat. Heute um 20 Uhr wird der Ausnahmekünstler im Rahmen des Musikmesse Festivals gemeinsam mit der hr-Bigband im Saal Harmonie des Congress Center Messe Frankfurt ein ganz besonderes Konzert geben.

Frankfurt music Prize 2016 The 2016 Frankfurt Music Prize goes to jazz, pop and rhythm-and-blues musician aL JaRReaU. The Frankfurt Music Prize is given in recognition of Al Jarreau’s lifetime of work as a seminal vocalist. In its explanatory statement, the jury emphasised his outstanding interpretative and improvisational abilities with which he has elevated the solo singing voice to previously unknown heights. Today at 8 pm he will be giving a special performance together with the hr big band in the Harmonie room at the Messe Frankfurt Congress Center.

Emergenza is the world's biggest competition for unsigned bands. It has been an important launching pad for the careers of many international bands. Six bands from Germany and the rest of Europe won through to the Emergenza Euro Final from the qualifying rounds on the basis of an online vote. The Final takes place on the Center Stage. Die JM-SG45 hat sich dabei die großvolumigen Slope Shoulder Dreadnought zum Vorbild genommen, während die LM-SG00 die kleinen Bluesgitarren, wie sie in der Vorkriegsära populär waren, wieder auferstehen lässt. Beide Gitarren sind mit einer eng an die Vorbilder angelehnten Sunburst-Lackierung versehen. The DR-10sg from TAsCAm is a mini recorder that weighs only 100 grams. It has an integrated directional microphone than can be placed on any camera with a hotshoe. It will help beginners in particular to add sound to their DSLR video recordings. The recorder creates mono recordings in WAV/BWF format with a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz at a resolution of 16 or 24 bits and offers automatic or manual level adjustment, a limiter, low-pass filter and EQ presets for different scenarios. It is also capable of dual recordings, with the second recording at a reduced level to protect against overloads and hence distortion. This is bad news for lighting engineers, who like inserting their DMX paths in the sound multicore. Help is now at hand from NOWSONiC. DMX signals, in other words control signals for spotlights, are transmitted in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands by the Nowsonic autark MDr-2450. Pairing with the receivers is accomplished at the push of a button. The unit receives the control data via a cable or via wifi from any external computer, tablet or smartphone with a browser. The difference between koa and high-quality acacia is not that great, however, and these ukuleles certainly look attractive. In der Vergangenheit wurde bei LAkeWOOD jede Stegeinlage einzeln aus einem Knochen-Quader herausgearbeitet; eine separate Einstellung der einzelnen Saiten war in einer akzeptablen Güte nicht umzusetzen. Die neuen Stegeinlagen werden speziell für Lakewood mittels CNC-Frästechnik aus Knochen gefertigt und dabei mit einer punktgenauen Intonationseinstellung für jede Saite versehen. So ist auch bei schwierigen Akkorden eine gute Stimmung garantiert.

Soundmondo gehört zu den ersten Webseiten weltweit, die Google WebMIDI integrieren; ein Standard, der mit dem aktuellen Chrome Browser für PC, Mac und Android Mobilgeräte verfügbar ist. Soundmondo verfügt über eine gigantische Klangbibliothek, die von den Nutzern bereitgestellt wird. Durch die Verbindung zum Instrument, lassen sich Klänge im Web aufrufen und sofort lokal spielen. Bereits zum Start stehen über 1.200 Presets zur Verfügung. Gleichzeitig zeigt Soundmondo, wie sich die Klänge am eigenen Instrument programmieren lassen. Soundmondo has a gigantic library of sounds made available by users. The link to the synthesiser enables sounds to be accessed on the web and played instantly on the instrument. Although the enclosure dimensions have remained the same, and as before a 5.25" polypropylene woofer and a 1" silk tweeter work together in a coaxial arrangement, the surface of the enclosure has an impressive smooth finish. The enclosure has also gone through some design changes to reduce intrinsic vibrations even further. The tweeters have also been optimised and now have an even more uniform emission pattern. EVENtIDE has created tverb together with Bowie's producer Tony Visconti. He recalled setting up three microphones in the Meistersaal at Berlin's Hansa studios. Tverb takes a single microphone signal and uses it to compute the signals for the other two microphones, adding separate reverb and gates to them. The virtual microphones can be positioned anywhere, adding further sonic options.
