We have had an exciting week with lots of festive activities to mark the start of Advent. The children have been making fantastic decorations at home and at school to decorate our Christmas tree in the hall and our trees outside. On Monday we had our tree dressing day when the lights were switched on and the trees were adorned with beautiful decorations. The infant children have been working really hard on their nativity play, ‘Donkey for sale’ and are really looking forward to sharing it with everyone next week. The St Mary’s Christmas postbox is now open for business. Children can bring their cards in for their friends and post them in the box which is near the school office. The ‘post elves’ will then deliver the cards as soon as they can.

On Tuesday, the whole school were treated to a trip to the cinema. The children walked to the Plaza in Truro and watched the ‘Minions’ film. They all had a fantastic time and were so excited on their return to school. Agnes in Year 1 said, “I liked the bit when Kevin got big!” and Jenna in Year R said, “My favourite was Bob and his teddy”. They all enjoyed an ice cream at the cinema before coming back to school. We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents who were able to help and also the PCSOs who accompanied us and helped with road crossings. Christmas Experience with Kenwyn Church This week, the children in Year R, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 4 had trips to Kenwyn Church for a Christmas experience. They enjoyed a variety of activities with Reverend Parsons and other volunteers from the church. Thank you to Kenwyn Church and all the parents who were able to help us.

On Friday, Tess Dean came in to make Christingles with Year 3 who really enjoyed the

session and made some beautiful Christingles. Thank you to Tess and Karen from Kenwyn Church who helped the class.
