DEAN’S MESSAGE Dear Chapter Friends, A new program year is beginning, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming you to the great events planned! Many thanks to Dr. Michael Lehtinen, our sub-dean, for his vision in creating a wonderful year of exciting programs for our chapter’s benefit. All programs are listed in this edition of EN CHAMADE. A wide spectrum of opportunities are being offered, representing the great diversity of our Chapter. Our Summer Recital Series was a tremendous success! Thank you to our performers, ushers, and concert supporters for their involvement. We look forward to another great series in 2017! As concert series and other cultural offerings begin this fall, please share your events with us. Guild members are welcome to submit events for inclusion in our newsletter by the 10 th of each month. Please e-mail details to [email protected] for any professional events you wish to promote. Celebrate the lasting legacy of the world's greatest playwright. Join us for songs and dances associated with the plays from the days of Will himself to revivals in the 18th and 19th century and modern settings by NC composer Margaret Sandresky – a Carolina Pro Musica commission. Holly Rd Belmont NC 28012 Free admission. Donations welcomed Details: www.bac.edu Thursday, September 29, 7:30 PM: Organ concert by Jung-A Lee at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church. Dr. Lee completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance from Boston University, and also served as an organ scholar of The Memorial Church, Harvard University. She earned her Master of Music degree in organ performance from Yale University with a full scholarship. While studying at Yale, she received many prizes including the Charles Ives Prize. From 1996 to 1997, she studied at Humboldt University and at Kirchenmusikschule in Berlin as an exchange student. Dr. Lee finished her Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance at the University of Toronto. She is currently Adjunct Professor of Music, Organ, and Accompanying at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA. Admission is free; an offering will be taken for the Music Fund with 10% going to The Sharing House.
