History of YAG The Young Alumni Giving (YAG) Initiative, established in 2006, seeks to educate young graduates of Florida A&M University (FAMU) about the importance of continued support for the institution. YAG engages a new segment of the FAMU alumni community and encourages these individuals to express their financial, intellectual, and organizational support for the University that has provided a strong foundation for their success. Since its inception the event has garnered local and national support. Over the years the popularity of YAG has grown drastically. The attendance has doubled since we started, with more than 200 guests attending each year.

Past Speakers It is our tradition to invite former student leaders to serve as keynote speakers for the event. They also serve as Event Ambassadors, who work to recruit attendees and raise funds for our scholarships. Our past speakers include:             

Pioneer the Change … Sponsor a Scholarship Sponsoring a Young Alumni Giving (YAG) scholarship provides you the unique opportunity to connect with working professionals ages 22–40 from all over the country to build brand awareness and show company’s support of an important cause: Education! Each year the event reaches this key audience segment in attendance, through the website and social media. We provide a social, entertaining and engaging way for you to impact FAMU alumni, students and employees. Our attendees feel good about supporting the students at FAMU as you enjoy an unforgettable reunion experience.

Book Scholarship Level - $500 - $1,000 These funds are issued to students to cover the cost of books and other course related materials.

Scholarship Level - $1,000 - $3,000 Scholarships at this level may be large enough to cover the cost of tuition and/or fees for FAMU students. As a scholarship sponsor, you can choose the criteria used to administer your scholarship. Alternatively, you may contribute funds without specified criteria and those funds will go directly to our account for scholarship expenses. Sponsorship Opportunities This signature event is an ideal networking opportunity with substantial, sophisticated audience of young professionals (22 yrs. – 40 yrs.), who would appreciate your commitment to the success of Florida A&M University students. The Young Alumni Giving Brunch will provide the Presenting Sponsor the exclusive opportunity to showcase a product or service during the event; thus, developing customer prospects.
