Your needs may be highly specialised, which is where Cold Control’s Special Projects Department comes in. Our design team deals exclusively with unique projects requiring a high level of experience and expertise.

Portable Cold Store Refrigeration Equipment We supply portable refrigeration plant for many major players, such as systems to suit portable blast freezers and blast chillers for 20ft and 40ft applications. Our expertise covers a complete range of equipment including standard direct expansion, two-stage compounded low temperature systems and Glycol systems. Secondary Refrigeration Systems We have always been at the forefront of using secondary fluids in order to remove refrigerant gas from a temperature-controlled area. A typical installation will involve a dedicated plant room with equipment including compressors, pumps, control panels and fluid tanks. We may use integral or remote

condensers. Chilled fluid such as polypropylene glycol is pumped via insulated ABS pipework to forced air glycol coolers within the temperature-controlled area. Air distribution within occupied food preparation areas is often undertaken with textile socks or rigid ducting to prevent draughts from adversely affecting the workforce. We can defrost coolers either by electric rods or hot fluid pumped from a separate insulated tank. Environmental Test Chambers We are industry leaders in this field, where precise temperature control, humidity and oxygen quality are vital. Chambers may be supplied with PC-linked remote control logging and alarm dial-out for fast problem-solving.

When it comes to test chambers, we work with facilities such as sports institutes, pharmaceutical and medical laboratories. Blast Chillers and Freezers Our experience ranges from small two-tray reach-in blast chillers to 30-pallet walk-in blast freezers for applications requiring rapid cooling. Larger systems utilise floor or ceiling-mounted coolers with plenum ceilings and air-turning vanes. We cater for bespoke rooms within existing refrigerated spaces.
