Significant Achievements: Agribusiness

Dairy September cow Dairy milk test was 80 lbs. per cow from 900 cows. Milking 39 head of water buffalo. Production at 12-13 lbs. per head. Farm Silage chopping is completed. 9,188 tons harvested, approximately 800 tons fewer than last year. 900 pheasants and chuckers in inventory. Hatching 20-30 new chucker chicks per week. General Services/LaVista General Services is very busy with the pumpkin harvest as well as harvesting other vegetables. Planting garlic in a couple of weeks. Also, they have been busy at Pueblo Wood Products splitting firewood at the saw mill. . Heavy Equipment Installing water tanks and waterline for CSU. Staff spent most of the month at Ft. Lyon finishing up projects, including removing all fencing and gates to transport to BVCF and ECC. The Hayden Flats willow planting has been completed. Mobilized to Turquoise Lake and proceeded to demolish restroom facilities. Staff assisted with the grape harvest Received final inspections on CTCF Cell House 1 Completed bridge abutments along the Rainbow Trail west of Westcliff K-9 One dog went home to a little boy with autism; everything is going well with the placement. Two dogs went to Freedom Service dogs during the month. Twenty nine rescued dogs were adopted in September. Forty nine boarding dogs went through the program. K-9/CTCF Regretfully the CTCF K-9 program is being closed due to repurposing of Cell House Three. . Leather/Saddles Received second order for Russian saddles. 30 saddles + misc. tack for $280,000 1

130 more saddles are being quoted to Colorado Saddlery for the Russian cattle ranches. As a result of fliers sent out last month and at the end of the Federal fiscal year, United States Border Patrol (USBP) has submitted $24,000 in orders from various sectors. Current open orders for USBP: El Centro, CA: two saddles=$2,900 Deming NM : eight saddles=$11,600 Rio Grande Valley: two parade saddles and various tack=$5,500 Del Rio: one saddle=$1,650 Sierra Blanca: two saddles=$2,900 Shop is creating two prototype saddles for separate customers. Parelli Natural Horsemanship saddles in Durango has tasked CCi with building their best selling saddles in a lighter weight and most cost competitive model. They are anticipating sales of 15 to 20 per month. National Bridle (Tennessee) is interested in CCi providing a light weight gaited saddle. Wild Horse Program Ten horses adopted in the month. Program is currently holding 2,467 horses and burros. Another 50 burros are scheduled to arrive in October. Manufacturing CAD/Call Center The testing of the electronic invoicing with the University of Colorado has been completed and the system will “go live” on October 15. The Juniper Valley website has also been completed. Fulfillment The fall Canteen gift pack program is underway and approximately 85% complete. Due to facility issues, more than 1,000 orders were filled using CCi staff. Two truck loads of product were assembled and shipped for the Global Foods “Backpacks for Kids” program. Furniture The design and pricing for the display cabinets on behalf of new customer has been accepted and a Purchase Order for five initial cases has been received. Furniture Shop had only 11 days of production due to facility lock downs. Garments One of the new private partners has placed an order for 2,600 hospital gowns that will provide additional PIE work.

Garments/DWCF The update of the T-shirt patterns has been completed along with special patterns that will enable the production of not traditional sizes from existing raw materials.

Panels The new contour edgebander has arrived and repairs to the dust collection system are proceeding well. Demand for MOS products continues to be strong. Production for the month: $550,000 Panels, $12,000 plastic bags Printing The agreement has been executed to begin the television assembly program and first delivery of components has been scheduled. The development of the desktop calendar for CCi has been completed and production will start immediately. The annual calendar for the Canon City Rotary has been designed and will be going to press. Tag Plant The Third Quarter order for license plates has been completed for immediate delivery of more than 300,000 plates. More than 9,000 plates were handled as the DMV utilizes CCi to move plates around the state to assist with their inventory management. Service/Canteen Canteen/CIPS Cleaned and remove excess supplies and trailers from front of Central Canteen. Changed policy on the purchasing and inventory of Postage stamps. Made decisions on Winter Special items. Met with the following vendors: Keefe, Union Supply Group, Atlas Distributing Quarterly Canteen Review Committee meeting

CIPS Sales for September $190,718.62 Fleet Services

The Body Shop made $9,631.68 in revenue sales for the month, that included work done for DOC, State Patrol, and CU Boulder. Continuing to work on a Model A restoration-drive train, engine, transmission. Connected with staff at the Pueblo Aircraft Museum to inquire into possibly submitting an estimnate for restoring a WWII fuel truck. Nearing completion of the caging for the Denver vans. The Service Station generated $22,1161.15 in sales. Continuing process for obtaining teaching credentials for Golden Body Shop and renewal for Service Station staff SWIFT SWIFT crews responded to incidents in Larimer, Moffat, Montezuma, and Rio Blanco Counties, as well as an incident in Southern Wyoming. Received final approval for outof-state deployment from Executive staff based upon review of the Attorney General's Office. Completed an additional 70 acres on the Over the River project and continued work on various projects in the Medicine Bow/Routt, Pike, and White River National Forests. Began work on rehab project on the Lower North Fork burn scar and made

contact with homeowners group from the same incident for hazard tree removal projects on that incident as well. Effective 10/1/2012 returned SWIFT temporary staff for 2nd Rifle crew to DCC. The crew continues to be available, but will logistically need to work through DCC for staff deployment. Met with Lower North Fork Fire interim committee to discuss continuous spending authority request. Recommendation from committee pending. Transportation Six full trailer loads went to Larimer County Alternative Sentencing, four went to PCC, two went to Alamosa carrying benches for PPCC. License plates were delivered to ten different counties and the total mileage driven for the month was 29,173.

Sales/Marketing CDOT Weed cutting crews worked 2 Saturdays. This was to allow the crews access high volume traffic areas. Weekend traffic is decreased in these areas. Camp George West was part of a JBC tour. Most members of the JBC were present and were given a tour of the facility. Surplus Property completed 11 agency surplus pick-ups. Federal Surplus facilitated 14 requests for Federal Surplus property and 5 transfers. State Forms did 621 fingerprints and processed 189 orders for forms. CCi is adding new Momentum fabrics to its website. Will increase products available to our customers, and is an often requested vendor with interior designers. CCi stores have been very busy with the sale of agricultural food products. This is the season for apples, honey and CCi has introduced buffalo brats, sausage, and patty burgers. The CCi stores will soon be adding frozen pizzas to the inventory. A presentation by 20 20 provided a graphic journey for various CCi staff on the capabilities we could offer our customers when designing and rendering our furniture, modular and seating products. This software appears to be a great offering and should help with sales presentations. Three Supplier Showcases on the main campuses of CU have helped to strengthen CCi’s relationship with CU. CCi is 1 of only 9 strategic vendors CU allows to sell products on their website, “The Market Place”. CCi represents the office furniture portion vendor. The events were attended by Sales and Marketing staff as well as a Dog from CCi’s Dog program. CCi is in the final completion of Marquez Hall at The Colorado School of Mines, one of its largest projects of the new fiscal year totaling over $1 million. 4

Challenges: Agribusiness Dairy/Farm Milk prices are coming up and feed prices have stabilized, but are still quite high. Triticale planted on 150 acres and irrigated before winter sets in. Also, spreading manure on the fields in preparation for winter. General Services/LaVista Continues to have issues keeping sufficient numbers of offender workers. Heavy Equipment Still no answer on CDL offender drivers for SCF and BVCF Having trouble getting sufficient number of offenders assigned to the program at SCF, only 6 now with a quota of 10 WHIP The water system in the north east pens will be finished, with improvements to the water pressure, shortly. Manufacturing CAD/Call Center The change over to Google mail statewide will create additional programming and updates to the CCi website and on line ordering systems due to all participants having new e-mail addresses. Fiberglass The demand for standard items continues to decline. The development of new products will be crucial for the continued success of the Fiberglass operations. Mr. Smith met with joint venture partner and expressed his concern about slow sales; CCi may be looking for new partner or additional partners. Garments Reduced demand for traditional offender clothing requires the development of new products and customers. Panel Shop Facility issues have caused delays in production that will have to be overcome in the next week in order to meet the needs of our customers. Tag Plant

The redesign of the temporary tags has the potential to either create additional work or remove work from the factory. CCi will have to take the lead in the development of the product. Sales/Marketing Camp George West is down to 133 offenders and should be at 150 offenders--trouble filling inmate jobs. CCi - CCC had two delivery trucks in the shop for over a week waiting for State Fleet to approve repairs. State Fleet does not provide loaners or rentals while trucks are being repaired. We were able to install and deliver product by using smaller less efficient vehicles. Federal Surplus property is now working with GSA to facilitate the firearms program, which assists with getting used firearms to qualified police departments in the state. CCi is acting as the agent only. Service/Canteen Fleet Services SWIFT Fire truck engine replacement is completed, first replacement engine was defective; also replaced transmission in the farm manure spreader truck. Opportunities: Agribusiness Dairy Marketing buffalo and goat milk. LaVista General Services Contacted by El Pueblo Boys Ranch to complete some work at the Ranch, if their board approves. Leather/Saddles Developing a mailing list for mounted patrol units in major S cities, Manufacturing CAD/AVCF New technology is now available that will permit the three dimensional representation of furniture layouts complete with fabric and color choices. The development and implementation of this technology could significantly enhance the quality of the furniture designs presented to our customers. Fiberglass

An order for fiberglass tanks anf filters to be installed in the Fishery expansion continues to be imminent. The order could provide several months of continuous production and additional revenue. Furniture A Request for Proposal is in process for the Furniture Factory to provide office furniture in kit form for assembly by others which could possibly create additional revenue and production for the factory. Garments/DWCF Several inquiries have been directed towards CCi for the production of specialty T-shirts. Metal Products The order for 210 steel cells is scheduled to begin immediately and will continue for several months. Only 11 days of production due to facility lock downs. Sales/Marketing CCi has been asked to provide a bid to the CDOW Central office for removal of trees. The work if approved will start in late spring, depending on the landscaping budget left. The surplus eBay auto sales program has a surplus of Ford Crown Vics that are not selling; we are working with State Fleet to determine a course of action. Since August, State Forms has seen an increase in fingerprinting due to the Deferred Action program implemented by President Obama. CCi has created more work by adding a weed clearing effort around the water treatment plant for the City of Golden.
