President’s report: J. Nickel Thank you for attending our second general meeting and I hope you have all been working hard during the last month attempting to achieve the tasks you were all given. Since our last meeting I have completed the Good Sport annual online report which is required to enable the club to remain a level 3 Liquor Licence. I also had a meeting with Council Food Regulations Officer in an attempt to have our level 3 food handling licence reinstated. I was informed that the current state of the kitchen does not suffice with Victorian Standards. We currently don’t have any food licence, which means we are not allowed to serve any food at all except from the vending machine. In the next month I will be having a meeting with Council Facility’s who will inform me exactly what is needed to have the kitchen comply with standards. During this meeting I hope to find out if the club or council will pay for these upgrades and if there are any grants available. I was also informed that there might be an opportunity for the club to apply for several grants in relation to the service of healthy foods. I also attended the last working bee and was very disappointed with the turn out. I understand that there was short notice but for the club to remain neat and tidy and the courts to play as good as they do, it is imperative that members attend to assist. Clive does a brilliant job but he can’t do by himself. At this point in time I can’t seem to find any continuity in relation to any filing or continuation of club sponsorship. I attended a workshop held by council, incorporation with ClubHelp. The session was very informative and set out step by step guides for clubs to use in an attempt to obtain sponsorship. It is a great initiative for the club in moving forward and I can’t wait to run through the proposal guide given to the club. ClubHelp is also a voluntary free support program that can assist clubs if required. The attendance at this workshop granted the club access to the next workshop in February 2016. This workshop will have several local businesses attend willing to provide sponsorship to local clubs pending their proposals. I look forward to implementing the sponsorship proposals and gaining some long-term spencers for the club. 1
