Week Three Write ups #SPMFK 4 v New WAKA Order 3 By Danielle Fenichel #SPMFK got our first win of the season on a great game against NWO! Our defense was stellar, as NWO was a formidable opponent with some great kickers, but in an exciting game, we were able to get that extra run that made the difference. Our offense came to life, scoring three runs in the first inning, and then after NWO tied it up, we were able to score one more run late in the game and hold NWO's offense. Shout-outs of the week go to Angel for his game-saving catches, Pops for his RKI's, and Glen for scoring the game-winning run. By Ed Nolan Week 3 versus the courageous SPMFKs was a battle deep in the murk of Field D. Setting the tone immediately, the pediatric visitors entered the "lime" light early against NWO scoring 3 runs in 4 kickers off myself and company. With little answer back through 3 innings, the Order needed to dig in...and succeeded. The rally emerged with Teck, with a couple teammates on base, boomed a kick to leftcenter field which bounced off a couple Sour players resulting in a sweet 3-run roundtrip for the wheezing star of the black shirts. This tied the game 3-3. Defense settled in for both sides until the Kids manufactured the go ahead fourth run at the top of the 6th inning. With the heart of our order approaching the plate, a walk off was all but within our grasp. Our Captain, Carrin, confidently led off, but couldn't execute. I then kicked a high fly, which was eventually dropped by the "high" voltage centerfielder (who'll be "luminated" a little later)and I scurried into 2nd base with just one out. James, looking to tie the game with a base boot, lined one to that same fielder who shed mercy upon me, but was not as merciful this time making a diving catch to strand me at 2nd base. 2 outs. Nick, "Fester," (I heard someone call him) came up a bit short with a soft fly ball caught by SP's MF'n fielder. A humbling loss for the Order, but an "enlightening" victory for those bright Kids. We should be nice and Angry for next week.

Deez Nutz 6– Wait Empire Kicks Back 4 By Reese Roche Another all green team matchup and Deez Nutz came out on top thanks to a great start from Ray, Dana and Craig who all scored to start the game. King Rocco came up big with another solid pitching performance. His sombrero, creepy mustache and super changeup had The Empire Kicks Back off balance for the first few innings. Like some sequels, the second time through the order was not as good for us when The Empire Kicked Back to Back homeruns over the right field wall. I think one of them just landed. Deez Nutz stuck together found a way to make timely plays on defense to pull out the Win. Go Deez Nutz!

Murica 3 vs Scallywags 3 By Bro Dan First off let's welcome back our man Matt (Space) Lutz. Tough game but very fun game. Murica jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st, only to have the Scallywags tie it up in the 2nd. In the 5th Nick kicks and just keeps running around the bases scoring a run for the Scallywags. Again it gets tied up by Murica which is where it ended 3 all. Like I said tough game for both teams, but fun. CO-MVP's Commish Jamie(MBP, most bloody player) took a fist to the face which led to a blood fountain. She calmly went to the bench stuffed her face with tissues and played on ( Hell Yeah Commish.) Nick did his Forrest Gump impression and Ran Nick Ran(Run Forrest Run)!!

Pitches Be Trippin 3 vs Kick in a Box 7 By Ryan Miller Week 3 for Pitches Be Trippin' was a tough week for us. We were up against Kick in a Box. We were down 2-0 headed into the bottom of the 5th went we loaded the bases and drove in one run. I am not one to take credit but I believe the play of the game for our team was my kick that drove in 2 runs and the 3rd baserunner was a controversial out at the plate. We were up 3-2 heading into the top of the 6th when we were caught off guard, pulled our outfield in to far and the first player up kicked it over our heads for a homerun. After that play our team tried but couldn't keep up and gave up 5 runs. We ended up losing 7-3 after a rough 6th inning. It was a tough loss that we are still trying to come to grips with! This week we are excited to turn our record so far around!

LOST & FOUND Did you lose this bottle? If so, Melissa will have it at Field c at 6:30 pm!

Kick Me 6 vs Japan 0 By - Kyle D

It was cold, overcast and Jenn is still out with an ankle injury. What a truly awful week to play kickball. Even though we were sad that Jenn was still out and Tyrell showed his temper, we pressed on to play Huge in Japan. Our trusty Captain, Kyle Nace, lost RPS for the 1000x time in a row. So we were stuck with visitor and starting off at the plate.I believe we scored 3 in the first and 6 overall to win 6-0. Not really sure what else happen in the game cant remember. By Japan’s team through group text: Andy: It would’ve have been more entertaining and educational to watch a monkey shit in it’s hand and clap then it would’ve been to watch Japan’s game. Their striker sucked and their pitcher looked like a 50 year old dad with a beer gut, bald head, and chin strap beard Rachel: and we learned don’t mix chocolate chip cookies and guacamole Andy: Roger. The girls had the shits after the game Greg: Our striker looked like a 12 year old who never wiped the butter off his hands and couldn’t make a play Andy: Roger. 12 years old with butter on hands…..Mad rude. I’m an adult, recognize Bill: I’d at least give you 15 years old Andy …….yeah this is what happens when I ask my team for a write up!

PS: Happy 16th Birthday Andy!!! :)

You Can’t Kick with us 7 vs. Wait til you see my kick 8 by Melissa Traver

We're starting to come together as a team and have shaken off some of the rust brought on over the winter. We took to the plate first this week and with bases loaded, James and Tine were able to score off Katie's kick. The play of the inning came from a catch by Stephen off Aicha's chest. In the 2nd with bases loaded again, it was Melissa's bionic foot that kicked in Jill for the 3rd run of the game. We were able to keep the score to 3-0 with some nice catches and Dane running down the kicker at home. Things fell apart a little in the 3rd. Having to play all the innings started to take a toll on me as my hands forgot how to work and WTYSMK was able to score. It was either that or I was distracted by Dane shining Stephen's ball. Again unable to score in the 4th for us but one run scored by them. Going into the 5th inning, we were looking to increase our lead and that we did. With bases loaded once again, Melissa was up but her bionic foot wasn't having any of that. Instead James was walked and Jill came sauntering in. The next kick brought in Aicha followed by Kirsten. James was the last to slide in for YCKWU bringing the score to 7-2. WTYSMK scored 1 run before we got to 2 outs then all hell broke loose as they had a 3 run double. They were able to tie it up and eventually make the game ending run with time up.

Despite having our highest scoring game to date , we lost 7-8.

Everyone played great but this week MVP goes to Jill for going 2 for 2. She had good kicks and was smart with her base running.
