ORIENTATION PROGRAMME The official interaction between the teachers and the students of the 2016-18 Batch took place in August, 2016. Dr. Niranjana Soperna, Dr. Rubeena Khan opened the interactive session by welcoming all the students. All the faculty members introduced their course papers and made the students aware of each paper and its importance in teaching as well as for the development of an individual. The students interacted with each other and got to know a lot about their classmates on the orientation Day.

FRESHER’S PARTY A fresher’s party was organized by IVS on 9 t h August 2016. Dr.Rubeena Khan addressed the students. Man y activities were conducted on the occasion of Fresher’s Party. Students enthusiastically participated in the program and showcased their talents in different areas. All the students interacted with each other and hence they got t o know a l ot a bout their fellow batch mates.

ORGAN DONATION CAMAPAIGN Student of IVS organized an Organ Donation Campaign on 12 August, 2016 in the area around Chirag Delhi. The Institute organized Organ Donation Campaign with the help of Venue Eye Institute. The campaign consisted of two parts whereby, on one hand the students raised awareness about Organ Donation among people through street plays, skits, rallies etc. and on the other hand the Eye Institute took pledges by people who agreed to donate their organs through this campaign many people including the students became more aware about the importance and need of organ donation in present times.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION The institute celebrated 70th Independence Day of India on 12 August 2016. The programme started with National Anthem, followed by students participation in the cultural programs like reciting of patriotic poem, singing a patriotic songs, dances, the program also included a speech to show the importance of freedom and of our freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Chandershaker Azad, and many others.

NCERT VISIT An educational visit to NCERT was organized by the B.Ed. Faculty of Institute of Vocational Studies on 1st September 2016 for all the students of B.Ed. programme. It was the 56th foundation day of NCERT. Students attended the foundation day program where many cultural events were performed by the students of various Regional Institutes of Education. There was a stall where the students got a chance to learn how to use puppets and also they got a chance to learn pottery. The students got the opportunity to interact with the officials of various departments of the NCERT and received all the answers to the queries regarding various programs of education.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION A Poster Making Competition was organized by NCERT on its Foundation Day. In which five entries were selected from our college and those students were Deepika, Maitri Vats, Anam, Kavita & Neha Kandari. Neha Kandari got selected in the top 10 and received certificate of merit and rest of students received certificate of participation from NCERT.

INTER HOUSE COMPETITION

In order to ensure holistic development of students of IVS various inter house competition were organized throughout the semester. The session began and various competitions like rakhi making, pot decoration, best out of waste, friendship band, carom board etc., were held. All these activities helped students to enhance their overall personality along with their social development and aesthetic sense.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION Teachers day was celebrated on 5th September, 2016 with the students of B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. On this occasion students presented various programmes like dance, drama, group songs and also presented teachers talent round.

FRESHER’S PARTY A fresher’s party was organized b y IVS on 1oct 2016 for D.El.Ed. students. Dr.Rubeena Khan addressed the students. Many other activities also condu cted on the occasion. Students were enthusiastically participated in this program. All the students interacted with each other and hence the y got to kn ow a lot about their fellow mates . MINDFULNESS, MEDITATION & YOGA WORKSHOP On 7th October, 2016 a workshop on Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga was organized in our college. The resource person was Ms. Bindu Tyagi, an expert in Yoga and Meditation from Grah Kalyan Kendra. The workshop was divided in three parts – Mindfulness, Meditation and Yoga. In the first part, Students were told the various ways to enhance their mindfulness by including the breathing exercises such as ‘Anulom Vilom’, ‘Kapalbhati’. The second part included a 15 minutes session of meditation which was done by our students, under the supervision the resource person. The third part included the discussion on the benefits of Yoga in the daily life. The student volunteers performed some Yoga asanas such as Surya Namaskar.

SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN On the day of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on Oct 14 2016,IVS in spirit of the day took initiative in the idea of CLEAN INDIA and spread awareness about cleanliness and also organised a NukkadNatak, skit act,and group play at various places like Hauz Rani,Malviya Nagar, Khirki Extension and many other places. Its main objective was to spread awareness among the students and the residents. FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME A FDP was conducted on 28th October, 2016 by Institute of Vocational Studies to make teachers familiars with the upcoming changes and challenges in the field of research. A faculty was invited from Indian Research Academy who talked about gaps in the field of Indian Research and informed about publishing research at International Level and National Level to add to the existing pool of knowledge. An effort was made to create interest among faculty in research and contribute to the global knowledge.

HEALTH CAMPAIGN Health Comes First The students of IVS organized a health campaign on 14th October, 2016 in Chirag Delhi & Sheikh Sarai. At the day of the health campaign, students focused on prevention of Chikungunya, Malaria & Dengue. Our students organized a Nukkad Natak with slogan of Macchar Bhagao Jeevan Bachao.

Cracker free Diwali

CRACKER FREE DIWALI Students of Institute of Vocational studies had organized a "Cracker free Diwali" campaign on 28 October, 2016 on friday in the areas of Sheikh sarai phase-2. Studenta had taken out the rally with attractive posters to motivate the people to not to burn crackers on Diwali to prevent pollution. All students participated in full swing.

WORKSHOP ON EVALUATION OF READING ABILITY Workshop on Evaluation of Reading Ability organized by SCERT on 22nd November, 2016, DIET Moti Bagh has organized a meeting for D.El.Ed. trainees regarding the scheme of nonreaders (Programme Reading Ability Test) Teachers of DIET, guide on students the necessary details and information for taking up on an assessment of non-readers in various schools. They also provided the students the assessment tools along with the list of the students of various schools allotted to our D.El.Ed. trainees it was a motivating and inspiration gathering for our D.El.Ed. trainees to get a new experience and learning.

Workshop on Evaluation of Reading Ability organized by SCERT

TRIP TO PRATAPGARH A trip was organized by Institute of Vocational Studies was planned to Pratapgarh for B.Ed. students on 26th November, 2016. The students assembled in College and the bus left for Pratapgarh village at 8:30am. After reaching there, everyone was welcomed in a traditional style and shortly breakfast was organized. After eating, the students set out for different activities like pottery making, archery, shooting, cricket, volleyball, trampoline, camel ride, camel cast ride, and many more. Lunch was announced after a while and the food presented was very delicious and of good quality. Finally the day was winded up with a DJ session and around 4:30pm the bus left for college. Aids Awareness Programme Institute of Vocational Studies has organised a “Aids Awareness Programme” on 1-12-2016. Students of D.El.Ed has initiative to aware people how to protect themselves from Aids, & also organised a nukkar natak at various places like Malviya Nagar, Seikh Sarai. Its main objective was to spread awareness among the peopleand the residents.

DECEMBER - 2016 ENVIRONMENTAL CARE AND PROTECTION CAMPAIGN Students of Institute of Vocational studies had organized an "Environmental Care and Protection" campaign on 2 December, 2016 on friday in the areas of Sheikh Sarai. Students had taken out the rally with the effective posters. They had also shown a street play which gives the whole information that how we can combat to protect our environment from pollution. Students had also given pamphlets and aloevera plants to people which helps in preventing pollution. EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO SCIENCE MUSEUM Institute of Vocational Studies organized an educational trip to National Science Centre on 16 December, 2016 for D.El.Ed. students. There were different types of sections related to science in each gallery. The museum gives all the information, knowledge & detailed explanation on the several topic of science in a fun-learning way, all the students enjoyed very much.

DIGITAL INDIA CAMPAIGN Institute of Vocational Studies has organised a “Digital Campaign” on 23-12-2016. Students of D.El.Ed. has celebrated the campaign. IVS in spirit of the day took initiative in the idea of Digital India Campaign and spread awareness about digital payment and online work and also organised a Nukkar Natak at various places like Malviya Nagar, Seikh Sarai and Chiragh delhi. OUTREACH & EXTENSION ROGRAMME Institute of Vocational Studies has organised an outreach & extension programme of “Cloth Distribution” on 23-122016, Friday, association with “Kaamna” NGO. Students of D.El.Ed. has donated many clothes with the estimation of 175 which includes jackets, sweaters, shawls, caps and some pairs of shoes to the needy people in the slum areas of Seikh saria and khirki village. Students put the rally with effective posters and participated fully to the programme.

Digital India Campaign

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME The Institute of Vocational Studies organized a five day 'faculty development programme' where esteemed faculty/professors from NCERT, IGNOU were invited to speak on the theme "Integrating ICT in teaching learning process". Prof. Dr. Shrinivas from NUEPA, Assistant Professor Mamur Rizvi from NCERT, Dr. Niradhar dey from IGNOU was the guest speakers. The aim of FDP was to spread awareness about ICT and it's use specially in the field of education. Various dimensions of ICT like effective use of ICT in teaching learning, ethical considerations while dealing with ICT, various risk and security factors in using ICT especially in the field of education were discussed and explored upon.
