5) After logging in to Freading, this is the screen you will see. These are simplified directions on how to download eBooks from Freading. If you do not have an Adobe 10 you will need to create one at this point. Click on https:llwww.adobe.com/account/sign-in.adobedotcom.html under la. If you don't see this screen just type https:llwww.adobe.com/account/signin.adobedotcom.html into the web address bar.

6) Now click 'Don't have an 107' The reason you need an Adobe 10 is to authorize your device to receive books from Freading. It is basically a way for Freading to make sure you are not copying the books and selling them.

7) Fill out the form and click 'Create.' Be sure to write down your Adobe 10 (which is your email address) and your password because you will need to remember them later!

8) Now you need to download Adobe Digital Editions onto your computer. This software acts as your digital library when you download eBooks to your Nook. Go to http://www.adobe.com!go!digital-editions-2.0-dlpagetodownloadthissoftware.Click 'Macintosh' or 'Windows' depending on which type of computer you have. Then click 'Run.' Follow the steps to download the software.

9) When Adobe Digital Editions finishes its installation, your digital library will look something like this:

10) Go back to Freading.com. You can browse through the selection of books and pick a book to checkout. At the top right of your screen you will see a place for 'Tokens Used.' Every week you will be allotted 10 tokens to use. Each book costs a certain number of tokens to checkout. For example, if I wanted to checkout "The Color Purple" it would cost me 2 tokens. Click on the book you would like to checkout.

11) Click 'Download EPUB.' A message will pop up asking if you want to open or save the file. Always click 'Open.'

•...... 12) After you click 'Open' Adobe Digital Editions should pop up automatically. authorize your computer with the Adobe ID you just created. and click 'Authorize.'

13) After you click 'OK' your book should begin to download automatically.
When your book finishes

14) Now it's time to plug in your Nook. Plug in your nook to the USB port in your computer.
Your Nook

15) To transfer the book to your Nook, simply drag and drop the book into your Nook. To do this, place the mouse on the book you want to move. Click and hold the mouse button down while dragging the book over to 'MyNOOK.' When the book is ready to be dropped into your Nook you will see a green plus sign. let go of the mouse button. Your book should now be on your Nook.
16) Your book should now appear under 'MyNOOK.'

17) Disconnect your Nook from the computer by safely ejecting the hardware.
Click on the small arrow
at the bottom right of your screen. Then click on the picture ofthe USB cord with a checkmark by it. Then click 'Eject NOOK'. You will then receive a message that your Nook can be safely disconnected from the computer.
Disconnect your Nook from the computer by pulling the USB cord out ofthe USB
port. •

18) If your book does not appear under books in the library on your nook go to 'my stuff' and then 'my files.' Your book should be under 'Digital Editions' on your Nook. You can also search for the book by its title by going to search and entering the title of the book. You should now be ready to read your book. Happy reading!
