Vaccuperm VGS-140

General

1. General Vaccuperm VGS-140 high-performance disinfection systems • Pressure sensors for more safety: optional pressure sensors for injector vacuum and operating vacuum allow the early detection of disturbances such as insufficient injector vacuum or vacuum regulator faults. • Precise scan system for the flowmeter: the inductive sensor is insensitive to soiling and does not get into contact with the aggressive gas to be dosed. The resolution of the signal is about 2 % of the limit value of the measuring range. • Systems with direct proportional control: the servomotor of the rate valve can optionally be equipped with electronics (4-20 mA input) for direct proportional control without additional control electronics.

2

3c

3b

• Automation of the dosing process: optionally a microprocessor-based controller can be integrated for PID control or for compound loop control. • Ergonomic and service-friendly design: all control elements and displays are installed at eye-level for easy handling. Easy change-over from automatic to manual operation. All assembly and service work can be executed with a few standard tools. Note: Vaccuperm VGS-140 are expert systems. All component configurations must be adapted to the requirements on site. For assistance, please ask our product specialists or project department.

The selection of the injector to be used for the specific task determines the safe functioning of the entire chlorine gas system. The important criteria are the motive water pressure and counterpressure as well as the dosing capacity. The indication of the customer data and the operating point are necessary for the decision. • Due to the special form of the nozzle, the operating costs are low and efficiency is improved. • Easy selection of the operating point thanks to the optimum graduation of the product range. • The construction according to the flow allows a reduction of the pressure losses of the non-return diaphragm valve. • A safety non-return diaphragm valve according to the floater principle protects the dosing unit disposed upstream optimally from the entry of water or chlorine solution. • Injectors for ammonia and sulphur dioxide are available on request.

Combined liquid chlorine trap and chlorine gas filter LiquFilt 524

Types

LiquFilt 524 separates the impurities in the gaseous chlorine and catches any liquid chlorine drops. LiquFilt 524 is an important part of high-capacity chlorine gas dosing systems. It protects the downstream dosing units from damage by liquid chlorine and prevents the obstruction of nozzles and valve seats. Essential parts of the unit are a rugged steel vessel filled with chlorine-proof mineral filter material, and an electric heater strip wrapped around its casing. The self-regulating strip conveys the heat to the steel and thus keeps the housing at a constant temperature, hot enough to evaporate the deposited liquid chlorine drops. LiquFilt 524 is installed directly in the chlorine gas line via its flange connections. The tube connection needs not to be detached for exchanging the filter. In order not to interrupt the chlorine gas supply when exchanging the filter, we recommend the installation of a bypass line with three shut-off valves.

Liquid gas evaporator RV 171

Technical data

The automatic evaporator transforms the liquid gas taken from the storage tank by heating. The heat transfer medium is either water containing anticorrosive and antifreezer, or oil. The liquid gas to be vapourized flows under pressure into the lower part of the evaporator, passes preheating, evaporating and progressive heating zone and leaves it as a dry saturated gas flow at the top. In order to protect the downstream installations up to the pressure reducing valve from reliquefaction of the gas, the evaporator is designed generously, considering the gas outlet temperature. A bursting disk with connected expansion tank ensures that the highest admissible operating pressure is not exceeded. This tank is dimensioned in a way to transform the overpressure after the bursting of the bursting disk into the normal operating pressure. If the bursting disk bursts, this is indicated by a contact manometer. A contact manometer with two adjustable limit contacts indicates too high or too low gas pressure. • The compact and maintenance-free multitubular heat exchanger is designed for the evaporation of liquid chlorine yet also suitable for ammonia and sulphur dioxide. • Chlorine quantities of up to 200 kg/h can be evaporated at temperatures from 5 °C to 60 °C (water) or 68 °C to 72 °C (oil) • Protection from overheating and overpressure • High operational safety due to the use of proven materials resistant against the dosing media.

Pressure reducing valves 544 • The pressure reducing valve 544 reduces the unregulated gas pressure of the gas containers to a constant operation pressure. • It ensures the precise and pressure-independent functioning of the inlet valve of the vacuum regulator and prevents re-liquefaction of the gas. • If the reducing valve is additionally equipped with a servomotor, it protects the dosing unit against the penetration of liquefied gas by its immediate shut-off function in case of malfunctions of the system. • If the operating pressure exceeds the setpoint value, the spring-cone-diaphragm system causes the valve to close. • If the pressure reducing valve 544 is connected to a Conex DIA-G or DIS-G gas warning system, the valve will be immediately closed in case of a gas breakout.

This section is based on different fields of application and installation examples and gives easy step-by-step instructions in how to size a product: • Select the most suitable and efficient pump for your installation. • Carry out advanced calculations based on energy, consumption, payback periods, load profiles, life cycle costs, etc. • Analyse your selected pump via the built-in life cycle cost tool. • Determine the flow velocity in wastewater applications, etc.

Replacement In this section you find a guide to selecting and comparing replacement data of an installed pump in order to replace the pump with a more efficient Grundfos pump. The section contains replacement data of a wide range of pumps produced by other manufacturers than Grundfos. Based on an easy step-by-step guide, you can compare Grundfos pumps with the one you have installed on your site. When you have specified the installed pump, the guide will suggest a number of Grundfos pumps which can improve both comfort and efficiency.

CAD drawings In this section, it is possible to download 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) CAD drawings of most Grundfos pumps. These formats are available in WebCAPS: 2-dimensional drawings: • .dxf, wireframe drawings • .dwg, wireframe drawings. 3-dimensional drawings: • .dwg, wireframe drawings (without surfaces) • .stp, solid drawings (with surfaces) • .eprt, E-drawings.
