Glossary of common WFG terms

AEGON AEGON N.V. is an international life insurance, pension and investment group based in The Hague, The Netherlands, with businesses in more than 20 markets in the Americas, Europe and Asia. AML Anti Money Laundering at WFG refers to a course of training that gives you knowledge of red flags to look for to prevent and report money laundering activities. Appointment An appointment is a formal approval to sell the products of the various companies with which WFG’s affiliated companies have selling agreements. You will need an appointment with a WFG approved product provider to market its products. To get an appointment go to WFG-Online to the Business Center> Field Manual>Products and Providers, and then choose the company. Appointment information will be on that page. AppVantage AppVantage, WFG’s advanced web-based insurance application, enables associates in the United States and Puerto Rico to verify that their clients' applications have been completed correctly, sign them using a digital signature pad, and electronically transmit them to the provider company. ASAP Using the ASAP Program, a new WFG Associate can learn the business first-hand while simultaneously preparing for their securities licensing exams. Because this program allows non-registered representatives to accompany qualified trainers in the field, specific rules and guidelines must be followed to protect all parties involved. Associate Each member of World Financial Group is referred to as an associate. Also, the first official promotion level at WFG is Associate Base Shop The localized team headed by a SMD. Everybody in a base shop reports ultimately to that SMD, though there may be several levels between them (Associate, Senior Associate or Marketing Director, SMD). BOM A Branch Office Manager is a registered principal (series 26 or 24) who maintain an office location where Registered Representatives and Non-Registered Associates are assigned. The Branch Office Manager, under the direction and supervision of OSJ Manager, assist the OSJ Manager is maintaining compliance with the securities rules and regulations. BPM A Business Presentation Meeting is a standardized company presentation which introduces prospective new associates to World Financial Group and its business opportunity. These formal presentations are usually held once to twice per week, depending on your SMD, though the presentation can be given informally to individuals almost anywhere and anytime.

CEO MD CEO Marketing Director is a senior level field position for an SMD who has generally promoted at least 6 direct SMDs. Code Number Associate ID which is given to you once your Associate Membership Agreement is completed and approved. COMPASS WFG’s comprehensive commissions and reporting system. Many of these business tracking reports can be found on WFG-Online Convention The annual company conference usually held in Las Vegas, which features top notch speakers, training specific to your hierarchy, and recognition/awards for the year. E &O Errors and Omissions. All WFG licensed associates are required to have Errors and Omissions liability insurance (“E&O”). All associates except New York associates are required to maintain E&O through the company’s E&O Provider. This is a MANDATORY charge pursuant to the Associate Membership Agreement Section II; Subsection J. An Associate may not decline coverage for any reason. Errors and Omissions Insurance is mandatory for: • • • •

All Securities Appointments (this includes Variable Life and Variable Annuity appointments) Any Life and Term Insurance Appointments Any Property and Casualty Appointments Any Investment Advisory Appointments

E-AMA Electronic Associate Membership Agreement. This is the application form to join WFG. Once this is completed and sent in with a $100, ($125 in Canada), administrative fee, you will be notified if your application is approved, and given a WFG Code Number. Also called the AMA, which can be submitted in paper form as well. Home Office/Executive Headquarters Located in Johns Creek, Georgia, is home to hundreds of employees at the WFG Executive Headquarters who go to work each day ready to help you succeed. License In order to distribute WFG’s approved product’s you will need to get your State Life Insurance License, and/or Securities License. Using the WFG Field Manual system, go to the Life Licensing section and determine the licensing requirements (resident or non-resident) for the state(s) you wish to be licensed in. Life License This, plus a company appointment, will allow you to sell approved life insurance products from WFG Providers we have a selling agreement with. Navigator Navigator is a document storage database for WGS Representatives. It is accessible to Branch Office Managers. Needs Analysis A Life Insurance needs analysis is a tool in which you go through with your client and find out their personal, professional, and financial goals, and to provide a a basis for your product recommendations. WFG’s Financial Dream Map, WFG’s exclusive online, goals-based financial needs analysis software is offered through WFG Solutions on WFG-Online. OBA Outside Business Activities are any business activity other than the business of WFG or WGS, through which that person is employed or receives compensation (other than a passive investment).

WFG/WGS requires that a Field associates must notify and obtain written approval prior to engaging in any Outside Business Activity Points WFG uses points to determine promotion qualification, as well as for contests and recognition. Points are a measure of production volume, and are accumulated based on the type of product sold and the total compensation to the field from the sale of that product. You are able to track your points on the COMPASS system of WFG-Online. QSL The Quick Start Licensing program helps guide new associates through the necessary steps to becoming life licensed, helping them to move more quickly into the field and begin selling products. SMD Senior Marketing Director. This is the position at which WFG associates become independent from their upline SMD and can run their own business and build their own base shop. This is the first big promotion goal each new associate is generally aiming for. The company begins recognition at the SMD / Base Shop level, leaving recognition inside the Base Shop to the SMD. System Manual Refers to the WFG business building system for growth and duplication. There is a variation on the System authored and run by one of WFG’s largest field leaders, entitled The System Builder. You may also hear the System Manual referenced as the Business Format System (BFS). TeamLink Team Link is a voice messaging and communication service specifically designed for WFG members and its clients, allowing users to communicate with clients and other associates efficiently. TeamLink is primarily a team communication tool used by many leaders in the business. TL&P Transamerica Life and Protection is the division of AEGON to which WFG belongs. Variable License Also called Series 6, or Securities License. This is a US license. A Variable Annuity and/or Variable Life License may be necessary before an Associate can sell Variable Life or Annuity products. Some states may not have a separate Variable License. They may be included with the Life License. HOWEVER, if an Associate wishes to sell variable products, he/she must be FINRA registered in the state of sale regardless of the state license requirement. That process begins by submitting to World Group Securities (WGS) a form U4. In Canada, associates who desire to market securities must obtain a Mutual Fund / RESP license and be approved by WFG Securities of Canada. W.connect W.connect, provided by Winfund, is WFG Canada’s new investment portal that will give you access to a more time saving administration information, tools, reports and fill able applications as well as improving client document organization and ongoing real time compliance reporting. WFG EI WFG Education Institute (Canada) is WFG’s in house branded education platform for getting new associates licensed faster with WFG in a cost effective proven platform.
