POLLING STATION POSTERS AND GRASS SKIRTS

The ‘grass skirt’ system of counting votes is used by some local authorities in counting multi-member wards. The system involves layering ballot papers on top of one another and lining up the voting areas of the ballots so that only the voting marks can be seen. This forms a ‘grass skirt’ effect and allows the votes to be counted easily and quickly by totalling along the length of the laid-out ballot papers.

INDIVIDUAL ELECTORAL REGISTRATION (IER)

Individual Electoral Registration (IER) takes effect from 10 June 2014 in England & Wales and 19 September 2014 in Scotland. Under the current system, the "head of the household" is required to register all residents of the household who are eligible. Under the new system individuals will be required to register themselves, as well as provide their NI number and date of birth on the application form so that their identity can be verified.

personal identifiers... The Electoral Administration Act 2006 introduced new anti-fraud measures to prevent electoral abuse. The new legislation improved the overall administration of elections and enhanced their security. The Electoral Registration Officer must send every person who remains an absent voter and whose signature on record is more than five years old a notice in requiring them to provide a fresh signature if they wish to remain an absent voter. Nicki has extensive knowledge of all types of print specifically an in-depth understanding of electoral printing and its data requirements, the various Electoral Management Systems, Electoral Commission regulations and Royal Mail postal requirements thus allowing us to offer an efficient and compliant offering. Neil Batt - client admin [email protected] Neil manages the administrative side of all electoral work that we undertake, from initial cost estimations to artwork approval, final quality control and despatch. He manages the administration for all electoral work undertaken. He sets very demanding deadlines and ensures that quality standards are always met.
